After the shocking death of ronan kerr by who can only be classed as scum the whole community across the board condemmed the attack. Peter robinson stood side by side with gerry adams at the funeral. Ian paisley visiting daniel o connel's tomb. Are these times heralding the death of religious sectarianism in northern Ireland?

Ah here I meant the thread to be a celebration about the norths moving on from the troubles, I cant see anyone arguing that this is a bad thing here.

Did anyone hear Paddy O'Gorman on the radio today, reporting a story from Derry, sectarianism is not dead yet...

I agree on that point, there is major progress to be made but not in this lifetime did I think I would see ian paisley at daniel o connel's tomb!

Well sectarianism is far far less prevalent in this day in age in the southern part of the country.

Im certainly not trolling and I know belfast divisions still exist but these people are a dying breed hopefully relicts like the orange order and the walls dividing belfast will go the way of the dodo.

Paddy and his dog were in Derry and he tried to talk to both sides of the sectarian divide. Both sides were reluctant to talk to him.
    This was last weekend...
