That'll only work if you happen to be in somewhere like Beverly Hills when the explosion happens. If your in Ireland you'll probably have to make bumper cars out of Toyota Corolla's, Ford Focus's, Hyundai Santa Fe's etc.

head down to the nearest army barracks. Help myself to a couple of assault rifles and a lot of ammo. Shoot every window out of liberty hall.
Then down to Dun Laoghaire or the airport to steal a boat / plane and go somewhere hotter like portugal.
