I wasn't around in 1920. I was around in the 1990s, and I was disgusted by this type of murder while Gerry Adams was still organising them. I don't know how you can convincingly condemn someone else for doing the exact same thing that you felt was acceptable when you were doing it.

I don't want to misrepresent what you are saying, so please correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like you are arguing that murdering someone like this in the 90s was fine, but now its not acceptable. I just can't agree with that.
Why are you slating SF now when they have utterly condemned this attack? SF are just as much the dissidents enemy as the British are, I hear "move on" you could do your part in that too

Dont use this reprehensible murder as an excuse to bash SF ffs

if someone blows up the royal wedding who will care?

libya...iraq etc...im sick of the "oh its so unfair and terrible"brigade.

what exactly will you do about it?

    exactly ...nothing.
Says alot about a person if they don't care about these events.

Yeah, let's pretend that if this was happening in the 90's, the Shinners wouldn't have been defending it as part of 'the war' instead of condemning it now that they are drawing salaries from the British state.

Some people don't have a clue.

It's not happening in the 90's, it's happening now.

SF have NOTHING to do with these lowlifes. Some people bothered to actually educate themselves on simple facts.

Obvously there is little that most individuals can do, but most also cant help feeling disgust at these actions.

Just heard the news after bringing my mam for mothers day meal. She said god love that young lad and it mothers day tomorrow.

Scumbag dissidents sending a message to Catholics not to join the PSNI.

That's a somewhat bizarre statement. Would you prefer if SF were still condoning attacks like this just because they may have in the past?
I don't really care what SF have to say about it, same as I don't really care what Gary Glitter's position on child abuse is. But I do accept that it's a good thing that the bulk of SF/IRA have stopped murdering people in recent years.

When will people in that community stand up to these people and hand them into the police? They must know who these lot are. They target our police service, plant bombs all over the place. Who is next? It really is making the blood boil in my community.

Just speaking to a few people now and they are raging with this. Just go away!

What a stupid fcuking thing to say.
Does the fact that the unfortunate victim was a human being not matter more than anything else.

If it was 1920 we would all be cheering it on, different times.

Speak for yourself. Another stupid comment and one that demonstrates a real ignorance of history.

Why would that imply that he is their spokesman? If he was their spokesman, they would be telling him what to do, not the other way around.

    What difference does that make?
The fact that they targeted a police man because of his religion

Ie, the fact that it was kinda sectarian too

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14,575 ✭✭✭✭FlutterinBantam

How do you know that they did.?

Irish/Northern Irish people are NOT still dying because of the British presence on this island. Irish/Northern Irish people are still dying cos thugs/criminals have a blood lust and love nothing more than causing havoc for the people who live in NI. And opinions similiar to yours only contribute to their propaganda. If you have any respect for the man who died, his family and friends, please keep nonsense like this to yourself.

Im assuming that they did seen as the last police man they murdered was targeted because he was a catholic.

Religion has nothing to do with it. It was because he was an officer in a police force in the United Kingdom. They need to get over it. Bloody bastards.

When I heard about this I had no doubt that the poor guy was catholic. It's part of these despicable ***** plan to discourage catholics from joining the PSNI. In their twisted mentality, they believe that if they can achieve that, it will then make the PSNI a legitimate target, as they will then be seen once again as a sectarian police force.
Twisted, sick logic, but you could not expect anything different from the type of deranged bastards we are dealing with here.

Seriously? I doubt the people who did this were from NI let alone the area it happened.

Exactly what community would this be ?

I presume you dont mean the community the officer in question was reportedly a member of.
