I didn't think I'd need to say this but, as I've been asked on several occasions over the past few days, I'll say it. No, I'm 100% absolutely and categorically not running. There are people infinitely more qualified in the area than me running. I've only been a union member for 6 and a half months and am delighted to have been elected Finance Officer.

thats it, its another three and a half weeks.

It gives everyone a break from elections too which is nice because people were pretty sick of it all coming to the end of the last one.

Nominations for the position of Vice-President for Clubs, Societies and Union Development are open from 5pm today.

Nominations will close at 12 Noon on Monday 4th April.

Nomination forms are available from the SU Office.

Election Day is Tuesday, April 12th.

VP for Clubs, Socs, & Union Development is a new position that was created when the updated constitution (voted in on the last election day) was passed. So a by-election has to be called to fill it.

I was wondering that too actually... Surely the Finance and Ents positions are a bit redundant now seeing as they're part of the sabbat job descriptions (Finance -> President and Ents -> Comms iirc).

Yea they were the ones I was thinking of but I wasn't sure and didn't want to name any seeing as I'd prob name the wrong ones and look like an idiot!

Nope; clubs and societies cannot endorse any particular candidate in a Students' Union election campaign. The members of clubs and societies are of course allowed to campaign on behalf of a candidate, but not in their capacity as a member or even committee member of a club or society.
