Broni got Comms. Very close between him and Mal. Surprised by lack of updates on boards- try Stobserver on twitter and #msuelections2011 for more

The elections are over. The 2011 constitution is in effect.

So what do we talk about now?

There's a lot I could say, about my campaign, about the conduct of others, but it won't change anything, the people have spoken, and so all I will say is that I stand by what I said in the student observer interview
    http://studentobserverireland.wordpress.com/2011/03/10/sabatical-positions-count-msu/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=facebook
and I think the following quote sums it up nicely:
“Honor has not to be won; it must only not be lost.”

Said it before, I'll say it again, well-run, very professional, and major thanks to the RO team, my own team, everyone else around the place and all the candidates!
    Congrats to the eventual winners!

Defeat isn't easy but everyone took it with heads held high and that's nothing but a credit to them. It takes guts to run and everyone who ran should be proud!

Myself and AdmaialNimitz did RON proud I think!:D

Well done to the Student Observer during the elections, it was as good as some universities official publications during campaigns. Loved the audio content. Top notch stuff from Dave and your man from Sligo.

Also, while I'm here, just gonna repost my words of thanks from FB:

Didn't get the chance to thank everyone who was featured on the updates and in the whole effort, so here goes: Paudi, Shmick, Bernard O'Mara, Neil Frazer, Aidan Rowe, Rob Munnelly, Aengus Ó Maoláin, Ruaidhri Boland, Laura Feeney, Declan Meenagh. Keith Broni, Fiach O'Neill, Gearóid Brennan, Cathal Óg Donnelly, Oisin Nolan, Maura Gerrihy, Deirdre Duffy, and Alan Coyne.

You have no idea how much Thursday meant. Thank you all.

USI: Sad to see Aengus missed out, would have been a new chapter in there. Really think some of the SU types with decent views should have considered the idea of contesting the presidency. Getting in there so soon after re-affiliation would have been great for NUIM.

    USI report on Conference:
    http://www.usi.ie/component/content/article/1626-usi-congress.html

My article for the Student Observer on what Redmond's re-election means:
    http://studentobserverireland.wordpress.com/2011/03/15/opinionre-election-of-gary-redmond-a-worrying-sign/

In 1996, the student registration fee stood at £150. To present a 2010 increase of €500 instead of €1500 as a victory is insane. The fact is the Union of Students in Ireland have failed to realise that lobbying against fees is not sufficient to defeat fees. The self-congratulatory attitude to the march in November from many within the union proves this. Such marches, when not part of active campaigns, are merely glorified photoshoots.
