And you are they guy who is complaining about people generalising about people who are from the north. Give it a rest now. What you said was most likely in jest, the same as most people who say something not so nice about NI.

Easy tiger. Yes, I said it in jest, hence the :insert tongue-in-cheek smilie here: bit of my post. Apologies for any offend caused :)

What is the deal with After Hours, anyways? Is it an endless parade of dickery or is it a special environment to vent?

I know that it probably was but the person from Limerick could go start the exact same thread about Limerick now as you have started here.

I just think that its a bit stupid that you wonder why others do it and then a few posts later you generalize a city yourself in the same manner that some people talk about the north.

For what its worth I personally promote Golf tours to NI as its rich in beauty and has some wonderful golf courses so im not one that percieves the north in a bad way but I have in the past and most likely will again have a crack at some-one for being from the north, just as a bit of fun like.

There absolutely is an anti-northern sentiment on boards.

There must be about 5 threads a week with the same agenda on ridiculing the entire population as terrorists and murderers.

It is hilariously hypocritical that the mods seem to be quick to lock a thread ridiculing Dublin or anywhere else yet when it comes to Nordie bashing they are all for it.

Both and on the odd occasion, a decent, sane discussion.

Well the North is a political issue and funnily enough it became topical when the election was running.

And for the record this is coming from some-one who got stabbed almost a year ago by some-one who happened to be from limerick so if any-one is gonna be bringing Limerick up on its "Stab city" title it should be me but the fact remains that most of Limerick is nice and pleasant. Few not so nice places but they are everywhere, even in the North e.g falls road...Shankill road....

STOP with the generalising about the falls/shankill road.

It's funny just today in a business meeting someone joked about nordies and their self important attitudes and, while everyone laughed, there followed a general consensus of "but it's really true" from everyone present. Probably the third time in as many weeks I've heard different people comment on the "joys" of doing business across the border.

Well the north west is good, Donegal is great a lot of clean beaches and great surfing beaches. A lot of mountains and very scenic. I am from Donegal I know some people from northern Ireland, they are very friendily, open and have a great sense of humour. Most people I have met from north Ireland have been some of the most easy to get along with people; very easy going, sincere and fun people. They can be very loud and boisterous but not really in a rough way. Thats my experiences.

I haven't been here all that long...but I've noticed a lot of comments from people that seem to be anti-NI. Two posters on a thread last night described it as a 'kip' although they didn't back it up with any reasons why they think it is a 'kip'. Others have said that the border should be dug round and let it float away (how this is possible, I don't know). So...do boardies dislike NI (or it's people). If so...why?

Don't worry about it really. There is anti a going on here. The majority that represents on here is of very opinionated and very arrogant. If you stand out from the crowd here you get bullied.
It's not like a lot of other forums I use. Its dominated by a certain type of person and if you are different you are the one who looks like the outcast.
Here also there is a lot of anti lower income makers sentiment. it's not just northerners believe me.

Because you hate "free-staters" When you guys are in a pack you will snub anyone from the south yet on your own you are all pally.

I'd guess 90 odd per cent of interactions I have had with people from Northern Ireland have been decidedly negative.

I have a couple of friends from the North but by and large Northerners I have come across have been loud, obnoxious, scumbags, intent on playing the 'Is it becoz I am (insert various political persuasion here)' victim card and acting like they exist in a world outside of politeness and acceptable behaviour where the normal rules don't apply.

Really? II found people in the north to be even more friendly than people in the south.

From my experience, it seemed like a lot of southerners have a really negative view of the north, but had never actually been there. When I was getting ready to move up, most of my Dublin friends were like "why the hell would you want to go there?" Of course none of them had ever been. Then when they came up for the weekend, and realized that they could go on the piss without breaking the bank or getting kneecapped (:p), first they were amazed, then jealous.

The only thing I found weird about it is that there is this definite social script around the conflict that everyone seems to know the words to.
