I've just finished watching ET with my kid and noted a few things.
See if these remind you of any thing:
ET is not of this world...
ET heals the sick
ET radiates love from his (sacred) heart
ET dies and is resurrected
ET ascends into the heavens.

Give ET a few thousand years and ya never know what might happen.

Is ET Jesus?

Jesus wasn't directed by Spielberg and as a result the new HD edition of the bible does not result in Jesus getting crucified on a walkie talkie.

yes, ET's father was a carpenter and his mother wasn't even his mother. just some vessel that was magically inseminated by a fertile god. it's uncanny!

No there was a school of thought(films critics drawing parallels like yourself, me once too

) that ET was based on the life of Christ and even stories that Spielberg back this up but he has denied it.

Quite a lot of films look like they have spiritual under linings tbh.

Spielberg answered that he did not intend the film to be a religious parable, joking, "If I ever went to my mother and said, 'Mom, I've made this movie that's a Christian parable,' what do you think she'd say? She has a kosher restaurant on Pico and Doheny in Los Angeles."

Granted there are some parallels...my son

however there are also some glaring divergences

ET not such a good public speaker (EEETTT saave soul .........eh what you cleepy googley eyed little dingbat?)

ET quite stingy with the old loaves and fishes or burritos and pizzas (whatever you get the idea)

Although ET hunted by government types - ET quite popular with the general public, Jesus not so much really (in his own time at least)

ET not make the ultimate sacrifice to save our eternal souls but instead spends the whole film snivelling and influencing easily led children to allow him to call an interstellar taxi so he can fcuk off home, the little bolox.

ET greenish in colour.....presume Jesus wasn't...I think its a fair thing to presume.

Anyway in summation.....I think that ET is not in fact Jesus.

But you have to open your heart to the message of ET. You have to seek him.
And besides that quote is taken out of context and was translated from the greek into hebrew then back into Greek then into Klingon before Gandalf decreed that it be read in its original Elvish...... then into English by King James.
Both ET and God need a press officer
