Will anyone be abstaining from meat on Wednesday, just curious to know if this is still upheld by AH posters!

I've been abstaining from the stuff for 13 years, but I might grab a Big Mac on Wednesday just to test God's wrath.

Maybe I should eat meat this Wednesday, its pretty much the last Catholic thing that I still follow, well because its more of a tradition as oppossed to any religious habbit for me.

That being said, I can live without having meat for 2 days of the year and as long as the fish being cooked is tasty, I won't mind.

I used to do it until about 3 years ago and then I thought, "I don't even go to mass, why am I carrying on with this?" and I made the biggest ham sandwich ever.....the guilt made it taste better

When i was young there was know way you could eat meat on ash wednesday, you be crucified :-),and you also had to make sure ya got your ashes on your forehead,the way berti used to have them.

I thought Ash Wednesday was the day for not smoking and that good Friday was day for not eating meat

I'm off the meat, but it's more of a thing of looking at the belly and saying "I need a good excuse to exercise" so.....there.
