    Had a fantastic Day/night.

    Only just home.

After firing 24 .308s I decided that paulo6.5,Dev110 and myself would try and improve our scores for next time by a bit of field craft

Thanks to everyone involved in running and facilitating this competition.

You know you are onto a winning formula when there is good quality biscuits on offer with the coffee and tea in the back of a trailer.

As a new member and now having popped my cherry as a competitive shooter I look forward to moving up the results table, eventually.

It was good to make a few new friends yesterday, The camo tape melted to my Mod though, next time I may leave the mod off as the heat after 24 shots was unreal.

A great experience though, last Fox shoot I had entered prior to yesterday was 10 years ago, however yesterdays was I thought really well done.

Fair play to the lads in the butts for being good sports, and all at MNSCI that had administrative Roles!

It was a great day. The crack was mighty and I got to meet up with some of the people that I speak to regularly.
I hope I can make it to the next day.
Without doubt the lads that ran the shoot were great sports and deserve a pat on the back for a job well done.

There was stiff competition, had it not been for 2 points you would have got a trophy!

Maybe you will join MNSCI now, the more hunters we get the more hunter comp's well get!!

    Was a great day's shooting.

Some crack was had - Nice to finally put some faces to names.
Pity that I got my own ass handed to me on a plate! Well done to all those who took part and there was some great shooting done.

Looking forward to getting some practice in and not embarrassing myself so much next time around!;):D

And fairplay to the RO's and the lads who did butt duty - It was a long day and there was some amount of work put in for this shoot. Thanks!

I reckon a timed exopure of moving foxes and bunnies life sized Targets is perhaps teh hardest shooting there is.

The adrenalin was pumping yesterday for me; particulary when I missed the second deer :o I had a premature round ejaculation :o

Having said that, what better way to safely practice hunting skills so one is sharp when in the field.

I can't wait for the next comp!
Although I hope to have the .223 for the next one as the Mod will not get as hot  and leave the last few shots with a bit less mirage!

What way did the scoring work lads?? Was a hit a hit or was there different points for different organs?? Just wondering! Would have definatly brought the .22-250 but had to work

There was a ring target on the Boiler house area of the deer, the Fox target was the same AFAIK and the rabbit had scoring on head shots as well as body shots AFAIK.

I did not get enough time to study the Targets, just 5-10 seconds free exposure @100 yards while I was loading 7, 3 or 5 rounds. Perhaps a 10 round mag might have helped some.

I found the hardest part was trying to drown out Shanmol308s roars of Gooooooo on Tack from the spectator line lol
I should have turned the reactive Peltors off ;)

Ah yes. As said good to put a face to the name. I was the blond fella talking crap and trying to get everyone zeroed. :D

Out of curiosity how many times in total were you told how nice your "Savage" was? I remember it being said twice. :)

Seriusly though nice rifle. Nothing like firing a shot then cleaning, then firing a shot then cleaning, then firing a shot then cleaning, then firing a shot then cleaning, then firing a shot then cleaning, then firing a shot then cleaning ................................................................. :D

I beg to differ. Just home from Stakelums and the Father has just had a long, tearful, goodbye to his Sauer and bought a Remmy. I'm disappointed to say the least (:D:p), but i cannot fault the rifle.

Its a Remmy 700, with rifle basix trigger, mounts, Burris rings with MOA adjustment, 24" mil spec barrel, aluminium bedded, H&S stock, target crown. A lad from the states brought the rifle over but changed for another. Seems to be the business and the Father is delighted. In .308 cal too. Headpsace is tighter than the regular Remmy and the targets that are with it show ragged 5 shot holes at 100 yards. Will post pics when his substitution comes through and he collects it.
