So I was out walking my pooch earlier. This time of year I drive into town in the evenings to walk him.

Is it me or is there a lot of 13-16 year olds just hanging around looking like they're up to no good?

I passed three different groups of the little fcukers & felt really uncomfortable each time. One group were hanging around outside a known drug dealers house, another group were locked drunk & the third group were standing around outside a chipper but taking up most of the footpath which meant that all the other people walking past had to walk onto the road to get by.

I'm not old by any stretch but there's no way on earth I'd ever have been so disrespectful & downright ignorant as some of these gougers.

WTF is happening out there at the moment that teenagers are given free reign to do as they please?

I'm mad, very fcuking mad :mad:

A lot of teenagers have no respect for elders and authority these days. They're really fresh and you know why? Because a lot of parents don't really give a damn. They let them do as they please or they're afraid of their own children. I think a lot of kids are in need of some corporal punishment...as it was done in my time!

Meh. Doesn't sound like they were doing anything disrespectful except standing in your way. Just because you don't like the look of them it doesn't mean they're doing something wrong.

To be honest, the ones that are actually up to no good wouldn't just be standing around.

How is it their fault that you felt uncomfortable? They didn't do anything to you.

Did you ask them to move and they ignored you or did you just walk around them and then hold it against them that they didn't part like the red sea?

I do agree that there's some real scumbags out there, and some really terrible parenting, but I wouldn't get upset about some kids standing around slightly in the way.

They were standing in everyones way, not just mine. And yeah it's nice to think that teenagers are meant to respect their elders but I'm only ten years older than some of these guys so I don't think I fall into the category of 'elder' as such.

And it wasn't just the look of them. It was their general demeanour I didn't like. I felt very uncomfortable. They were dressed like any other teenager in a tracksuit & a hoody but they were giving off a really bad vibe. I felt like I was waiting for one of them to say or do something.

EDIT: True or false, a woman was walking with a buggy & had to move off the footpath to get by. Young or old this is unacceptable in my book.

When I was in college I used to live in a pretty rough estate and when myself and my mates walked out of there, or stood by a wall outside it, you could tell people were real nervous passing us. Wives would lean into their husbands and husbands would give us dirty looks, people would cross the road etc

None of us would hurt a fly, point being that sometimes people aren't up to no good and it's all in your head. Most people are sound

I agree that its mostly the parents fault but I dont think that corporal punishment is effective. I used to get hammered when I was younger, belts and all. I learned absolutely nothing from it apart from being more sneaky and that violence is acceptable. Its lazy parenting.

I can't STAND this sort of thing. Public streets are public streets. Youths congregate in groups, there is NOTHING wrong with this until someone is ACTUALLY doing something wrong.

don't know whether to laugh or rant-

Just like groups of women stand outside shops and talking, groups girls outside clothes shops, people outside pubs,tourists gathered around town, kids playing on the side of the road....

Just because you felt uncomfortable its not there fault-:rolleyes:
Apart from having a drink what did they do wrong- so go climb down of your high horse, polish of your cane, and leave the kids alone cause there are lots out there worse off than them.....

i'd love if you used that terminology about these kids to there parents, little fcukers, gougers, standing around where you get your drugs from- pretty sure you have no kids either let alone a sense of reality:mad::mad:

So... Did this woman try to walk past and they didn't move, or did she walk around them of her own volition?

Not liking their 'demeanour' is the same as not liking the look of them. I don't like people that bounce when they walk, it makes me uncomfortable. Does that mean they're doing something wrong? Did they say anything or do anything that suggests they were doing something wrong other than standing there when you'd prefer them not to be standing there, and not looking the way you would prefer them to look? (you can include their demeanor in how they look.)
