Notwithstanding the fact that Declan Ganley was in the studio (and they very obviously loathe the man) I've rarely witnessed such a pair of numbskulls as Bill Tormey of Fine Gael and his sidekick whoever she is.
Tormey lost the run of himself completely, a total clown spitting venom. Your woman wasn't far behind. A pair of muppets.

One of the better Vincent Browne shows. For once he could sit back and let the guests wind each other up. Ganley, whether or not you agree with him was much more impressive.

Re earlier post. When I mentioned Tormey's "sidekick" I wasn't referring to his party colleague Lucinda Creighton who looked uncomfortable anytime Tormey opened his mouth but the twit sitting to his left...

Tormey appeared petty, whingey and out of control.

Ganley's an interesting character with some charisma and his point concerning the bailout was well made.

If he wishes to run for office again, then he needs to free himself from alleged shadowy associations which are unproven but have stuck.

I caught the end of this, Ganley tore strips out of that numpty, only pausing to give the idiot more rope to hang himself with. I was embarrassed for Lucinda Creighton due to the behaviour of her party colleague. That other elderly woman panelist (whose name I don't recall) was an embarrassment also.

Ganley and Creighton were the only ones to come out of that with any sense of credibility intact.

RTE have a lot to answer for in this regard, their Prime Time piece they did on him during Lisbon 2 was a pretty lame attempt to paint him as some kind of sock puppet for other interests. Unfortunately the public seemed to have bought it being swayed by the ominous music they played over the frankly underwhelming "dirt" they dug up on him.

Would his blatant lies for months not be enough dirt on him?
here wait til I dig out his pamphlets for a good laugh.

I think the biggest lie of the lisbon campaign was the scaremongering 'Vote yes for Jobs'. I think a reasonable approach is to be extremely wary of the EU/ECB etc.

I see TV3 still have not put it up, does anyone know why?

How about the blatant lies and fear mongering spun by all the other political parties who were backing the Yes campaign? The people voted Yes to Lisbon because they were promised ruination and isolation from Europe if they didn't, kinda like the exact situation we find ourselves in now as it happens.

Yep, no jobs announced at all since Lisbon 2!

The biggest increase in unemployment was after Lisbon 1 so the No vote cost far more jobs.

Bit like the Fianna Fail ones

" A yes vote is the best vote for workers rights and jobs"
They cut the minimum wage and unemployment keeps breaking new records

    "Yes for the Economy"
    They brought in the IMF

    "Yes for Irelands Future"
    We have massive emigration

But the No side were Liars???

Who ever said the other side were saints? Look up straw man. They had a nonsensical campaign too. Apart from their wishy-washy 'yes for good things!!!!' they still werent nearly as bad as the malicious lies he told.

Anyone who is not from the political establishment in this country gets the full treatment from the state sponsored television and the "independent" media companies.

Look at all the completely unproven allegations against Gerry Adams and the likes.Ganley fought a good campaign and won.The government then decided to run another vote on the exact same question and brought out as much smear and fear as they could.
I have doubts about the constitutionality of the second vote but a lot of people got the message....we will keep doing this till we get the result we want.

We now see how good Europe is for us and a lot of the stuff Ganley "lied" about is starting to come true with a challenge to our abortion laws which started 2 months after Lisbon 2.......

Oh and what particular Malicious lies did he tell??

That Bill fella is an absolute idiot,

What sort of way is that to behave? Ganley pulled him up on it straight away, he is a joker, making light of the situation, everything had to be a joke to him - in my opinion because he has little or no knowledge to have a decent conversation.

    Bill:"Can I address this Vincent"

The guy couldn't address an envelope.

The embarrassment was written all over Lucinda's face throughout the whole thing to be associated with that guy, even Vincent looked embarrassed.

The programme would have been great with Just Vincent, Lucinda and Declan.

Just watched half an hour of it and thought the exact same thing. He is a bit of a one trick pony with his "federalise the debt" but would have been worth it to see it.

As for Bill Tormey.... what a fcuking tool,it would be funny if 2500+ didnt vote for the pr*ck

    Not Your Ornery Onager

    He seems drunk or something
That is an outrageous statement. Just because Vincent sounds/acts completely differently during his late night programme compared with his daytime broadcasts does not mean that he is not fit to drive afterwards. However, the same thought has often crossed my mind.

I agree with this. Ganley was remarkably restrained when faced with the tirade of nonsense coming from Tormey. Ignorant and arrogant. When he started singing Waltzing Matilda when Ganley was trying to answer a question, he made himself look like a petulant 5 year old. Lucinda Creighton, his party colleague, was embarassed by him and was visibly cringeing, as was I.
Absolutely childish behaviour - for a grown man, never mind a politician.

Lucky for Fine Gael Vincent browne put Tormey on when the voting was over. I was sitting there last night cringing at what I had just done in the ballot box. I hope he isnt a sign of things to come from the new government. I felt sorry for "lucy Lou" creighton, she was mortified. No fan of Ganley but he won hands down!
Don't know much about Ganley myself, except that he always seems to get 'established' politicians foaming at the mouth.

Which can only be a good thing.

Anyone see this tonight? Declan Ganley on TV3 tore lumps out of some FGer and there was a big row. Most entertaining Irish television in quite a while. The Blueshirt accused Ganley of being a "religious fanatic". Ganley gave him an evil "im gonna kill you" look. Thought they were gonna have a fist fight. Very entertaining. :)

    *awaits youtube clip*

damn i missed that show. will look for it on the tv3 website.

that guy tormey is mentally insane. he calls gangly a religious fanatic LOL that was the best show i seen in a while i have to say. tormey say's he always looks after the sick people' he should look after himself because he is very sick mentally.

So, after all, hasnt Declan Ganley been proved very right on a lot of economic/bank matters and indeed his campaign against the Lisbon treaty :pac:

If you think the Lisbon Treaty caused the problems ireland experienced you are a liar.
