Is Leo Varadkar the Peter Mandelson of FG?

I know somebody in that constituency. They worship the Cowens. It's incredible. Even looking at Biffo on the news from the count centre and people are gathered around him in awe of him. It's madness.

Looks like Cowen 2 will get elected anyway.

It seems to be like something out of Deliverance down there

So it's looking like only one seat for Fianna Fáil in Dublin and more than likely another 16 in the rest of the country. Proportionality this is a remarkable statistic.

Fair play to the the Dubs. There's obviously no potholes in Dublin. Local politics is alive and well. And that gobshíte Micheal Healy Rae looks like he'll get a seat. Will people ever learn?

Think Pringle has won it. So long Mary. Hopefully we'll never see your like again in Irish politics.

Two honourable men. Good day for Irish politics.

Just the Lefties: "He's coming home, he's coming home, he's coming....Joe is coming home"

Now the Righties: "It's coming home, it's coming home, it's coming.... honour's coming home"

And now all together (Le Cheile): "They're going home, they're going home, they're going....Haughey's going home" :D

She didn't own the seat, but I get what you mean.

She's not the first Tanaiste not to get elected, McDowell didn't get elected last time.

He really must be bloody exhausted. Imagine the elation and then the realisation that you have to actually go and do the job then.

Do you think RTE would treat a winning FF leader like this?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 359 ✭✭Tallaght Saint

Dylan Haskins in DSE got 1383 first preference votes. Came higher than the SF candidate. Fair play to him for that anyway :)

No, such a grilling he got there before he has even been named taoiseach after an obviously tough campaign, not much of a congrats from RTe

But I suppose these are different times. Fair play to him I say anyway, he's been ridiculed for years and has always kept his cool, worked hard behind the scenes and assembled the party into what it is today

I honestly think history will be a lot kinder to him
