So who else is following the count. So far have open a twitter feed for the local constituany, RTE live updates, and awaiting programes to start on rte.

Was alittle suprised at 9am to see one seat already won by FF, thinking the first boxes were not opened till 9am, then discovered it was the Ceann Comhairle.

Hmm, what a wonderfull system we have.

Rte have twitter feeds for each constituancy, plus results for each when they come in.

I just hope my two votes can make a difference.

RTE exit poll; 37% of voters consider local candidates/issues to be the most important factor when voting.

I despair, I really do. The thick Irish gombeems deserve to be raped by the Germans/ECB/IMF/Bankers/Bondholders.

Not sure about that one, Donegal SW is quite a strong FF constituancy with 3 seats up for grabs.

    But theres always hope.

What I want to know is, is it possible that this is one of the last threads we'll see about the government/elections on AH for a while?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 662 ✭✭✭Liber8or

Most importantly: did Gerry 'situation' Adams get elected in Louth, and if not, will he blame Unionists?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 645 ✭✭✭chicken fingers

Looks like a good chance that no FF candidate will get elected in Dublin

Is he the drugs guy? If so, well done Roscommon. Cant wait for cannabis to be legalised. Ireland can smoke its way out from the mess. I dont use the stuff but it is a happy drug. Ireland needs it after being sold into slavery for the banks.

I think you need to be invited by a candidate or the party, fairly certain you can not just walk in.

Save to say Docherty will probably have it after the first count.

Pringle to get one of the remaining two? Who to get the other remaining seat?

I'd say Dinny McGinley. Pringle doing very well.

Not impressed with my own constituency, Carlow/Kilkenny, FF are 1st & 3rd at the moment. That is not good - although Mary White is definitely not getting back in again

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,619 ✭✭✭ilovesleep

In the politics forum, its reported that on radio 1 it said that its likely that brian lenihan will keep his seat.

WHAT THE FCUK IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE voting for this man to continue as a finance minister if FF get in. BL cannot do his sums for fcuk sake.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,461 ✭✭✭Queen-Mise

Sean Haughey likely to lose his seat - it will be the first time in 54 years that a Haughey family member will not be in the Dail. Class :D:D

Lack of credible alternative, FG second candidate is not up to much. Second Labour candidate and Sinn Féin candidate are splitting the rest of the vote. Lenihan still has a core vote and should have enough to hold on.

One constituency that hasn't even finished counting yet and you're already readying the Molatov's?

    And?

FF were always going to get some seats, analysts have been saying this for months. Some people vote along party lines no matter what.

    From RTE:
1816 Trinity Students' Union says hundreds of students who registered to vote in two on-campus drives in recent months were unable to cast their ballots today.

1,800 registered in the first round of the on campus initiative, and almost 900 registered in a second round. TCD Students Union has received hundreds of calls from concerned students claiming that the paperwork was never processed by Dublin City Council and they were unable to vote.

    that's ridiculous.

Glad to see this type of thread on AH'S,As it gives me the opportunity to voice my delight at FG'S Election Success although they may not be in government it is still a relative success.

I am also happy that despite been banned from Politics for giving my point of view I can now share my views here,Cheers.

Ps, early tallys on Donegal SW, bye bye Mary.
