Jesus pew pew sucks. You can't even see anything with your thumbs on the screen.

Besides Angry Birds and Farm Tower and one or two others, all the games suck, touch screen only does not work for games.

I'll stick to my Nintendo Ds.

Level 15 is hard alright, but you get the grenade (the ones the red yokes lob at your tank) from level 16 onwards and the next 4-5 levels are dead easy.. There is a bug with the scoring though, you get more points than possible from level 16 onwards.

Right, I am trying to optimise my phone for the best possible battery and not using the cpu and memory too much so that it isnt laggy. I have the following:

    battery booster
memory booster (it is usually up in the 80s)
    startup auditor
system panel (cpu is at 32% most of the time)

I was just wondering is this all too much? And which should I keep.

Despite using startup auditor, skype and fotmob and some other apps keep on starting up even though I dont want them to.

    Anybody got any tips?

I am also going to get juice defender. Just want to know which I should keep and which I should toss away.

Similar q, following the latest "upgrade" where they said I had too much mem used.....

Is there a list anywhere of which of the many 'htm' 'android' etc., apps and bits of soft that are littered all over the place, do you actually have to have to run the f....n thing??

Whats the gig about having things on the SD card as opposed to in mem, are there things you can just leave there??

    Tnks

Same here, loads of apps I would like to permanently stop from running! Anyone here rooted a Desire HD and install one of the custom ROMS? If so is there much of an improvement in battery life?

    Cheers,
    M

I've a desire with cyanogenmod7. Theres a bit of an increase, but you cant use Juice Defender coz it doesnt support android 2.3 (gingerbread), just version 2.2

The startup auditor that I have actually seems quite good. Has stopped some apps from just starting up out of nowhere.

    eh startup auditor, ha.

I installed it and set it up but then it didnt really seem to work but then when I restarted my phone, fotmob or none of that was coming up without me actually starting it.

Skype on 3 however still comes up.

 Ah, that might be a problem signing out then!! I kept seeing the little s at the top of my screen, but then realised I had to sign out in the status tab otherwise I was permanently running it in the background, thought you had the issue I had, sorry!

I tried a few battery and app monitors but removed them.

The far biggest saving app for battery life for me is turning off the 3G (data) when you are not using it.

"APN on/off" it is called and with the standard "Task Manager" to turn off programs running in the background - my battery life increased by hours.
Also turning off the "Background data" option in your settings when you don't need it. (Same for GPS and WiFi of course)

Juice Defender can be set to turn off 3G when your screen is off, and re-enable it every 15/30/whatever minutes to check for mail etc...

Someone already mentioned Droidtv which i went and purchased the subscription for. only 6 yoyo's for 6 months or something like that. Anyways last ngiht having an ould nosy around I found "TV shows stream". I downloaded it from the usual non paying sites but sure woudlnt ya know, I needed to update it. In the end I paid something stupid like 2.50 or something for it. Must say Im fair impressed. Full seasons of most things i could think of where on it. Some of the videos you have to watch in portrait mode though but for a few penny's its well worth it.

Can anyone recommend a good app for jogging with? I'm training for the Great Ireland 10k and was going to follow the program on B210K (http://www.appbrain.com/app/b210k-pro/com.guyhoffman.b210k.pro) but the music player on my Samsung Galaxy isn't compatible with it and none of the 3rd party music players will work with it either.

I'm looking for something where I can enter a target training schedule e.g. run for 2.5k, walk for 1 min, jog for 5k, walk for 2 mins etc, listen to my chosen music and have the music interrupted at the various training points to inform me to "walk for 1 minute" etc etc.

    Any ideas?

    Ben
