Ill be voting, though I'm not particularly educated on the parties issues and don't believe them anyway...

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Eh no. There has been more politics in here than possibly on the politics forum in the past few months.. I wouldn't want to be a mod on here, I haven't got the patience to deal with some of the shit that the lads on here put up with.

there is also a thunderdome and rant and raving forum

so either go there and complain or GTFO the internet. Your post added nothing to the topic or debate. well done

On topic: There will be quite a number not voting on Friday but still voting. all islands around the country are a few days earlier which i think is stupid in this day and age.

How many people could change their minds in last 48 hours but can't take it back. Some candidates even quit the race after the votes are cast (donegal sw few weeks ago) and going out with a girl from Tory Island i know a lot of people out there are really pissed off but nothing is ever done to fix it

They have such refined and delicate palates,
They can find none worthy of their ballots.
and when someone terrible gets elected ,
they say "There -Just as I expected".

Yet again, I have 3 polling cards. One to my own address, and two to my parents, one with my middle name, one with out. I'll just be voting once.

(:pac: added in lieu of "Im not condoning illegal activity" disclaimer)

Why bother vote for a puppet government?

We are ruled by our financial masters. No matter who is elected, their actions and policies will not be dictated by the Irish people who elected them.

I'm not condoning it either :pac:

I'm sure someone will tell us how wrong it is.

It's a shame you feel that way. There's more options for you than what you hear on TV. Newvision.ie have a list of independent candidates on the right hand side of this webpage. The election isn't over yet and it is up to you if you want your government to take charge of the debt situation or hand it over to Brussels.

Yeah, more independents to hold the country to ransom for a ****ing casino is just what we need.

The government haven't been "in charge" of the debt situation for a long time now.

All very true. For me the more independents get elected the greater the chance of political debate returning to our Dail. There's no hope of it happening in a party system.

    I'm not.

    Why?

Coz I moved 60 miles north-east of Dublin last Feb. 20% top rate of tax, little crime, awesome health service.

The irony is I used to work in banking compliance and credit risk in Bank of Ireland... now the rest of yiz can pick up the tab. I'll be back after the debt is defaulted or paid off.

If anyone who can vote but doesn't and then complains about the shower of whatever that’s in power, they should STFU.

No, people like you should STFU. If you vote and elect incompetent morons it's YOUR fault, you have no right to complain. If I stay home and not vote. I had nothing to do with the outcome and can complain as loud as I want.

    tl;dr: Watch this

As for myself, I was hoping for a decent independant to come along in my constituency, but that hasn't happened. I will probably not vote.

This is why I won't be voting FF/FG.

I won't. I don't feel I am educated enough about the parties and don't care enough to learn about them. So I'd rather not vote than make an uneducated one

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 972 ✭✭✭MultiUmm

    I won't be!

... Although I'm 16 so I doubt that makes my opinion very valid. :pac:

There's lots of options and they are all valid. You can vote based on looks, personality, local interests, national interests, self interests...

In Egypt, Bahrain, Libya, Tunisia, and dozens of other countries right now pro-democracy campaigners are being gunned down in the street. Meanwhile Paddy cant be arsed :(

If voting ever changed anything it would be illegal.
