I expect the editor has done a mad dash around campus picking them all up judging by the number of JD complaints people are claiming to have made.

    Oh look, he's back!

Only 26.5% of students voted in the referendum. Are you still claiming that that's because of laziness and that the other 73.5% still believe the SU is relevant and important?
You posted some bull**** logic and figures to try make it seem that no-one caring enough about the SU to bother voting in it wasn't a reflection on the SU and was instead a reflection on how well they did their jobs.

As you said to me, prove it :pac:

Also, knowing one of the editors, I suspect he isn't particularly worried about JD complaints.

i'm really glad to see other people were as disgusted by the Seb comment. Apparently a couple of people who wrote it just took an intense personal dislike to him because of a few throwaway (but probably mildly offensive knowing him) comments that he made once.

I thought it was so so offensive, and while I understand that it is the Pirahna, it was SO much harsher than everything said about all the other candidates. It's really sad because he really does have his heart in the right place, and that campaign was anything but a joke for him.

I thought it was really terrible. It took so much self restraint not to march up to the editor in the arts block and tell him how disgusting I thought it was.

Didn't they have like 80% approval back in that survey they took a few months back.

I guess the difference between an opinion and using a phrase like "I expect" and making massively generalised statements is lost on you...oh dear, mustn't feed the troll...also I stand by what I said before....also the fact that counted among student numbers (and therefore members of the SU and potential voters) are students located in Tallaght, Naas, Belfast, Blackrock, Drumcondra, Limerick, Sligo etc. I wonder why those students didn't vote? It's definitely because the SU is ****.

Also with regard to your claim that I have some sort of personal interest in the SU, I don't. It appears you have some sort of personal interest in Piranha though (knowing the editor as you said) perhaps this is why you can't stay on topic?

Anyway - Piranha - I don't think anything of what they said in that article qualified as satire but I'm not planning on getting my knickers in a twist about it. I just wish it was funnier. Bring back Radical Mike!

Nuts, I fed the troll didn't I? Ah well, makes your neckbeard curly I suppose.

I see, you stand by your nonsense but you can't defend it. Fantastic

Claim #1: All people who don't vote in US/Ireland don't vote out of laziness.
Claim #2: People vote more when things are going wrong.
Claim #3: If the Sabatts weren't doing their job, more people would vote.

I didn't realise debunking the above idiotic claims counted as trolling, but there you go.

I think you'll find trolls are people who post nonsense and then run off when people notice they're spewing verbal diarrhoea and call them on it.
Just like you've done on how many threads related to the SU on this forum? (hint: a few) ;)

73.5% of students in TCD are actually in Tallaght, Naas, Belfast, Blackrock, Drumcondra, Limerick, Sligo etc. My point is rebutted, I accept I was wrong.
Also with regard to your claim that I have some sort of personal interest in the SU, I don't.
I see, strange though. You've gotten quite heated defending them a couple of times now.

Prove it. You've been saying this for ages. Prove it.

Also once again - the thread is about Piranha
Ah hypocrisy, you're a fine filly.

    A troll is defined as
One who posts a deliberately provocative message to a newsgroup or message board with the intention of causing maximum disruption and argument.

My personal definition of a troll is someone who enjoys being controversial for the sake of controversy, or who enjoys pissing people off (I'm a bit of a troll at times)

Tragedy, are you perhaps suggesting that Ahoyhoy here is somehow involved in the SU? What a sweeping accusation to make. How dare you?

I mean, it's not as if he only joined boards to defend the SU, and it's not as though he resurfaced here purely to promote hackery around election time or anything.

    HE MIGHT HAVE OTHER INTERESTS.

Can the SU discussion be moved to another thread?

Ahem. That's what you said, and I agree with you that a lot of people think the SU is irrelevant. But don't mix up antipathy and apathy, "thoroughly disdained" is a big leap to make off people not voting.

I have data here that suggests a student uprising against the SU is imminent.

    Fecking thought police. Tyrant.

I found that the smug look on the faces of some of the guys I saw delivering it didn't correspond to the level lols within the actual paper.
