If its all a " LOL" to you ... then your are a long time Sinn Fein supporter ..
Not one of the 'New' ones i was reffering to ..
Id just like the 'new' SF voters to know who they cast their ballot for ..

No, we're going to elect the opposition. The people who have been opposed to FF and their policies for the last 14 years. The people who criticized FF for all the stuff that landed us here.

Why do you think that they are corrupt, reckless, in the pockets of developers and the worst sort of financial speculator?

you must been watching fine gael for last 14 months not 14 years if you think that , have a look at their and labours manifesta for 2007 election , same dog different spots. potentially they are every bit as corrupt or as in labours case in the pockets of public sector unions

If the torcherers of Jean McConville are out puting up posters for Adams is that OK with you also ..

wasnt a war, only too ira and maybe sf supporters, but not too everyone else,

sf have a history that wont be forgotten for long time and still have ties, will take 5 too 10 years before most will consider them but not now,yes they get more votes this time but wont ever be in government any time soon as they have alot too learn about southern Ireland, these are facts weather they or there supporters like it or not, and a little thread like here isnt going too change it

Wouldn't ' Moving on ' involve removing the IRA memorabelia for sale on Sinn Fein's website .

Love the way the shinners keep harping on about "moving on"
Ye folks should stay up north and keep your weasel words to yourselves.

I'd rather have a government that leaves everybody with less money in their pockets than a crowd that tells everybody to move on and forget about the murders, bank robberies, extortionism, drug dealing, punishment beatings, gun running, blowing up kids in Warrington, blowing up pregnant women in Omagh,Manchester and so on.

Tell you what...Why don't you and your ilk "MOVE ON" back up to the north where ye belong?

How about that for a suggestion?

its a fair comment it isn't something that i agree with, its distasteful and i feel that there is a time and place for everything and the time and place for IRA t shirts is thankfully gone lets hope for good,
but we must remember that it isn't that long ago, and some people find it difficult especially people who may have witnessed or even suffered brutality and injustice brought down upon them by the British establishment, and as a result of this joined IRA.
Its much easier for us in the south as we never had to endure what some of the catholic community have had to in the 6 county's.
all said i believe sinn fein have moved away from violence and are the only party on this island i would support,as they have the courage to stand by there belief's and policy's and don't blow in the wind like the rest. i am sinn fein all the way.

It was a war and a fight for the peoples rights who were down trodden under the feet and religion of oppressors who had been allowed to stay on our land and took advantage and degraded Irish in all shapes and forms as long as they could get away with.Until the IRA gave them no other option but to fold and make way for peace. The IRA could have said stuff you and continued but they didnt and Sinn Féin gave way for that to happen.
These are the facts whether you like it or not.

After watching Pierse Doherty on Primetime on Wednesday last an emphatic NO! - I can't believe that the sum total of Sinn Fein's economic policies are to take what remains of the Pension Fund an what is on reserve in the Central Bank and use that to p!ss away on one years Public Expenditure while not having any idea what to do next year, while at the same time allowing us to become alienated by anyone willing to ever lend us money on the future (unless they're aiming to make us the first sub-prime Country!)

Clearly you don't follow through on a party's policy. The Primetime programme you mention was not a good forum for proper bebate or discussion of anyone's policies. In particular SF reps are badgered and not allowed to fully explain their policy.

Whatever their policy is it can't be worse than what 30 years almost of FF policies have done to us. They have proved themselves to be economically illiterate and can't attack anyone.

Are you watching Primetime Late Debate on right now. A much more ordered debate. Take a look

    ZINX,
What you are saying above is exactly the kind of stuff that brought about independence in theFree State. FF actually walked into Dail Eireann with revolvers! Many of the their TDs were known killers so do you think we should hark back to those times and stay in the past? where would that get us? Please think before you post such tripe and maybe when you are walking towards the polling booth give Sinn Fein a Number 1. You know it is the right thing to do!

If I was allowed to, I'd vote SF. But sadly I've had to emmigrate to Canada in order to find work, after unsuccessfully trying to find work in my field in Ireland and the UK.

Can anyone tell me what would happen if we just didn't vote, would it send a message to everyone in politics that we are not happy, sure there might have to be a re-vote, but would it be nice for once to take back our country and the only people that are going to get us out of this mess is us, lets take back the county, i am sick off the debates already ,all these fake promises there is no money for any of this. Do you think any politician that is running care's about u? Are they going to pay for your rent or Mortgage or put food on the table or wipe out your credit card debit or loans, nope there just going to take more money out of your pocket if u work or cut ur dole and keep pumping billion upon billion into banks can anyone see the madness of this? Don't bother to vote, don't bother to to strike or march or do what there doing in Egypt , nope we are the spineless Irish that will elect another government, with more or less the same ideas, good old Irish we do as were told, we have been living in a dream world, we accept what we sees because we are expecting to wake up. This is our wake up call.

    Casey Anne,

Pearse Doherty, Shane Ross, some FF head and Constantine the TCD Russian economist were all discussing the state of the Banking problem in Ireland. By a long shot the majority view was to burn the bondholders and stand up to The EU/IMF.

Pearse played a blinder once again. He had the measure of the interviewer this time and clearly put him in his place.

    Great performance.

I hope all the SF bashers on this forum saw the show as it really was an eye opener to what the mainstream parties are trying to do to this country.

No one really has a problem with the idea of burning the bondholders. The problem is what we do afterwards, what did Pearse say when asked that? Or was he interupted just as he got to that part? :pac: So far from what I've read of Sinn Feinn's plans after they reject the bailout have been the stuff of fantasty.

Judging by a lot of the anti SF posts on this forum it isn't just the politicians who can talk a lot of crap.

What bothers a lot of people is that SF are well ahead of the posse on the burning of the bondholders. Sooner or later all the other parties will follow suit on this issue. Why can't you see this. You are in the minority as all the top economists worldwide are in agreement on this i.e burn the fuddermuckers!

Ireland first, EU second. Full stop ya boyo!

I think Sinn Féin has been saying exactly what they wanted to do all along and before they even were looking for votes, and offered it to Fianna Fail as a solution and work together before all this happened. So no Sinn Féin all though want to be voted in now and would like that chance they were wanting to give be apart of a solution but were ignored and told they were wrong about the money and the banks and the crisis.

Have you figures to support your beliefs in bold?

In my opinion it appears that you have a strong dislike for Sinn Fein...Very strong!!

All Sinn Fein say is what others are doing? Well yes...like all politicians they have to promote their own policies and analyse the policies of others, it is politics after all...

Sinn Fein can do no worse than what we have had to put up with in the past...
