they are a waste of space, wouldnt even want that much space in each room, pointless. Would rather if there was actually stuff to do in them. There are those house in dalkey that costs 6 mil, the row of houses that descend to the sea?

I've actually driven all over that are taking pictures of the sea and buildings and things, sad indeed :p

That building is 10 to 15 years old, a monument to the kind of tacky, soulless buildings that were crapped out during the boom. As classy as the Blanchardstown Shopping Centre.

Looks like high maintenance to me.. can you imagine the dust balls blowing all round those tiled floors.

Its up there over 400 days! Just shows how times have changed - 4 years ago some poor sod would have paid €15m for it.... well maybe not poor at the time:p

Im sure if you could afford it you could afford an army of cleaners to ensure there are no dust balls

I could never live in a house like that,it's far too big and flashy, you won't need to go into some of the rooms from one end of the year to the next.
The hall/staircase looks elegant if a little sterile, fine for an old country mansion but misplaced in this footballers wives wet dream.

Oh if only I could have that house. I'd have rich banquets with a string quartet playing on the back porch every Friday evening.

That is a beautiful home.. damn if I had 4.5 million to spare...

But the home in OP is tacky tbh. Seems like the kinda place people with children called fiachra would live..

They're ten a penny in this country, theres only so much land you can use. I couldn't live in a house like that.

    Gotta be a townie.:p

I know the owner of the house in the OP. A tacky pile like all his friends. Ken Acker is the guys name.

A child brought up in the house in the OP would probably end up appreciating nothing, thinking it was normal to live in such a big house.

I see that everybody says it is tacky etc but do you people really think it is only worth 300 grand? These days I'd still hold it's value to be maybe 1.8 million - 2 million. In my opinion, 3.5 million is indeed too much.

There's something haunting or discomforting to me about the idea of living in that house "24 fitzwilliam square".. it's just too grandiose or regal for me.. also makes me think of the days when only 6 out of 20 children born to a mother made it to adulthood!

Jesus it looks sterile.. there's not even a curtain to wipe your knob on

I cant speak for this country but I worked all over the states for 10 years with different construction crews. Some of the houses ive worked on just beggar belief. Multi multi Millionaires, with more money than sense. There was one place that covered the entire House in Honduras Mohogany floors that cost over $1 million only to cover about 80% of the floors then with Persian carpets and that was just the floors, the whole house was being renovated. Another had a rooftop cinema, rooftop swimming pool, rooftop mini Club with 3 bar areas podium and dj box and that was just the roof. Some of them would put mtv cribs to shame.

A bit of imagination with the flooring and that house really would be spectacular. I didn't see any wood flooring at all or carpet or even a variation of tiling.

Do you think Dermot Desmond acquired the wealth he has today by wiping his knob on curtains? You'll never possess enough money to buy a house like that if you're the type to wipe your knob on the curtains!
