    Doesnt look like it now....
They usually release around lunch time Sunday.

Anyone notice pixeling for 1-2 secs (max once a program) or sound going for 1/4 to 1/2 sec on PLi.

Its even on the recordings as well

Sometimes on FTA or DVB-t and on local card also.

    Ta

The first rule about fight club is you don't talk about fight club.

The first rule about open source software is don't ask for eta's.

Some people over at vu-plus are financial contributors and are therefore customers and have every right to politely ask for a "rough eta!

i think you make the mistake of thinking vuplus site and vix are the same thing. we do not get and do not expect to get a penny for the vix image. sicilians excellent vuplus site hosts discussion on vix and many images and a home to release it and any contributors to the vuplus site are merely supporting hosting costs and maintenance not the vix dev team who again i say do not ask or want payment for the image. so in that sense you are wrong and i think you can freely ask about an eta for images but people {and i am not saying just you } but many many people constantly asking the same question does get quite frustrating. as it is impossible to give an eta until it is ready as EVERY DAY the image is added to in beta stages with new modules and updates and every section of that image has to be once again tested. as im sure you understand if it was released and had flaws of which there can be quite a few in beta stages everybody would be writing and complaining on these problems and saying we should not release an image if it is not working. and think if the image was ready would we just sit with it and not release it??? sorry if this appears like i am directing it at you dnme, believe me im not but is towards the people on various sites who continuously ask this question {even after just a few days of releasing an image they look for next one} it will be released when ready and tested so please everyone be patient and look forward to what the team have already said is going to be a great image.

Buddy, my question had already been answered over on other forum. There was no need for ay further discussion. But then the do-gooders reigned their self righteousness down upon me and that pisses me right off.

My question was perfectly reasonable, there's a lot of us wanting to know a "ROUGH ETA" 'sall. Now like I say, just relax eh!

why don't the vix team release their source code as part of gpl ... ?

oh and the board owner, vix team and sponsor have nothing in common ? :D

I would agree with you though that a donator is generally donating to the upkeep of a sites running costs.. most people who code, test images etc do it for the hobby and nothing more ... its generally commercial teams who get paid but the hobbyists get nothing apart from the general satisfaction of releasing firmware to people and ensuring the code is released as per gpl.

i understand that you wish a date and im sorry you were not happy with the answer i gave but i simply am just saying there is no definite date yet but is soon as if in final testing. it is a reasonable question the latter responses were not. perfectly relaxed here with a glass of vino and feet up coding a skin for the vu+ which i hope you and many others will like when i get it finished. cant wait to the day i use my vu+ for watching tv again lol

So, is Vix 1.4 out yet? :D:D

Seriously though, would it be worthwhile getting a Nova-T over a Sundtek since Vix 1.4 will support it? I'm assuming the Nova is cheaper? Must do a nosy around eBay later.

byte, the Nova is a fine piece of kit, got mine off ebay delivered for 30 quid and he threw in a second bigger aerial. You can buy em new for 40-50. They already work with pli and are promised (to a model) in 1.4. Sound investment. Also come with full size aerial slot so no annoying adapter etc

Possible steal - Spain (no customs, only a few hrs left)

lol maybe should kick the vino for one night :D then again maybe not :)

the nova t is good cheaper alternative and well built as dnme has said. and it will be supported in next vix version. i personally have a sundtek which i can vouch is an excellent piece of kit but in comparison to the nova tuner price, the sundtek is not worth the extra money

Byte hold off a while on the Nova-t.

Ive been using it on PLi for the last 10 days.

I switched all my recordings from Satellite (that I could) to DVB-t was excellent at the start but started to have issues.

Picture disappearing (sound OK) on recording channel on DVB-t.
Channel going into a loop of about 5 seconds of the program. Even on live DVB-t TV. It even recorded it that way.
Heavy pixeling on DVB-T channels at times.
Issues with combinations of recordings causing the picture to freeze and the DVB-t Recordings stop.

Chris has found the sundtek much better on VIX 1.3 so maybe best to wait and see how vix 1.4 works with the DVB-T cards first.

I've used it in PLI perfectly and I gave it a good soak test. There might be issues with drivers, personal setups, configurations etc ,that relate to one individuals setup over anothers.. So I'd happily recommend the Nova

EDIT: Darn, posted in wrong place, sorry, if anyone wants to or can be bothered, please delete. Many thanks

irishchris: wondering if you might be able to answer this question regarding upcoming support. I read that there may be more than just the Nova-T supported, and was wondering if the Avermedia A815 (Digi Volar X HD) might be included in that list?
Reason I ask is that I already have one, and don't want to have to buy a replacement to use it with Vix.

    Thanks for your help.

My VU+ Duo seems to be going belly up. Tonight after a forced re-install, I noticed the LAN port light on my router was amber. This according to Netgear's manual means the network is limited to 10Mbps.

Before you jump in, I can confirm that the router is fine. I have tried the following

Upgrading all firmware on both VU+ duo and router.
    Tried a different cat5 cable, Tried a Cat5e cable
Tried other devices into router on port that VU+ was plugged into
Tried plugging VU+ into different ports on router
Reset VU+ and router back to factory settings and tried a very basic install with no other devices on the network.

The device is giving me the odd related error message also, such as when updating epg, it might say "service not available" etc.

My VU+ is dying after less than a month. Not impressed, NOT IMPRESSED!

EDIT: and to make matters a whole lot worse, I have just realised that ielektroniks.com is down! gone! vamuse! Holy ****
