Shazwanda. She's the funniest northsider on either side of the river.
As for those you only watch on the tellybox I have to go with Dara O'B.

    I'm older than Minecraft goats.

Not many proper comedians in Ireland.
    Dara O' Briain is watchable.
    Mcaleer is funny.
Some of Michael Redmond's stuff years ago is funnier than any of the stuff nowadays-
"A lot of people say to me... get out of my garden" etc.

For comic talent and output of new material I'd have to say Mario Rosenstock.
Stand up performance is an art in itself, almost to an extent, regardless of the quality of the material. Heard of a comedian once who came out on stage and just said "What?" to the audience for 15 mins. Now, that set on paper, would not look good - but it worked for that audience.

Has to be Dara O Briain,

saw him live a few times now and he was brilliant, very funny....

Ed Byrne can be funny when he is with dara...not so much on his own.

I'll have to go with Dara, I used to love Dylan Moran but I thought his latest show was rubbish

    dylan moran

i agree his most recent show isn't his best but the second half of it had me in ribbons.

Neil Delamare, seen him live 6 times now and I still get sore laughing.

Colin Murphy (If you want to talk about the Island as a whole), seen him live 5 times and met him in the pub one night. Sound guy and genuinely hilarious.

Dara O'Brien, I would love for him to come near me so I can go see him.

Ardal o'hanlon would be up there. Himself or Dylan Moran for me.

Dara O Briain is he only Irish comedian I would have the time for.The rest of them can sail away on a big boat with McSavage slagging them playing some shoite on the guitar. They can take turns on that Lynch one to shut her up

+1, he's the only Irish comedian i'd listen to right now and there is nobody even close to him.

Edit; Actually ye Dylan Moran would be up there too, he's not my favorite, i really hate the way he acts drunk after a sip of wine and starts slurring his words but other than that he is a top top comedian.

Andrew Maxwell, he's censored on RTÈ so you don't get to hear his really good material.

thats a joke within a joke! the bloke is a loud moron, his through path in life is to be a Dustin lookalike!

Dara O Briain and Ed byrne, theyre very funny together. Although Dara annoys me when he says 'eh' after every joke he says. Its annoying.

It's all part of his stage persona and the show in general.

Dara O Briain. One of the funniest I've ever seen. Smart, witty and his audience interaction really makes every show.

After that, the only other Irish comedian I'd like is Dylan Moran. Ed Byrne can be alright, but usually isn't.

    Dylan Moran, forever.

Actually after my first post I fear saying this but I do like the D O D!

Met him in a Burger King in Sydney a few years ago

    Was he behind the counter?

I'm frankly shocked so many people actually like Dara O'Brien tbh.

    I think he's a pile of ****e.

I would have said Dylan Moran but having gone to see him last year, he disappointed me.

Brendan O'Carroll. I tinks he's brilliant girl. Specially when he do be does be dressed up as Mrs Brown & says mickey or fcuk. I laffs my head off ats thats. I always brings Jacintalique-a to his shows so i does.

I like the way tommy tiernan pisses off the joe duffy crowd, dara o brien is decent too and dylan moran is great.....yer man that wrote father ted and writes the IT crowd...not strictly a comedian but a comedy writer.

I've lost touch with who's new on the comedy scene since leaving ireland but I used to go to the comedy club in the international from time to time and they'd usually have some decent people up.

After seeing many of them live, Id say Neil Delamere hands down. Absolute genius at audience improv! That an his michael o'leary bit cracks me up every time.

Used to love Andrew Maxwell-saw him live three times, once he was fantastic, once he was diabolical and out of his head makin no sense, and the other time he was mediocre so Im not sure what to think now.

Love Dylan Moran and Dara O'Briain.

Michael Redmond has always been very good.

I like Neil Delamere, but my favourite is Dara O'Briain. His book is excellent as well

I had to force myself to get over the "eeehhhh" thing he blurts when he's improvising, because the man is genuinely hilarious. By far the best Irish comedian IMO.

    I hate Ed Byrne though.
