iSHSH it....it's what I use anyway for anthing to do with SHSH blobs.

    http://www.iphonedownloadblog.com/2010/12/04/use-ish****-to-easily-backup-your-shsh-blobs-directly-on-your-iphone/

Just to clarify though, are you looking for an SHSH app or a remote desktop controller app...in which case I would recommend Splashtop or LogMeIn Ignition.

I was hoping to find an app that does all the above. I use logmein occassionally but its not interchangible with pc/ipad/android so it'd be costly. Pity its not a licience you buy as I'd say more would buy it then.

I need VNC, RDP and SSH so I supose I'll need 3 good apps to get decent ones.

Do any of you know how to get vlc media player for iPad? I can only find the vlc streamer on the app store. If not what's the best player to get to play stuff on the iPad, I.e. Not streaming?

I think the VLC player was removed from the app store a few weeks ago. Luckily for me I got it in time.

    vlc isnt wonderful

if you skip forward or back it loses sync with the audio, annoying!

    cinex player is better imo

Very fond of Buzz Player HD for €1.59 . If you've a lot of stuff on a NAS in non iPad format it's great for decoding on the fly and streaming over wireless. Also can output to tv using the vga connector.

Worked for me. Just selected the program I wanted to watch and hit the 'get video' button at the bottom. Once it had loaded, pressed play. Quality not amazing but watchable.

The March issue of Empire is out now, at full price - €5.49.
I still purchased it as the February edition was so good and its still a bit cheaper than the paper version I believe.

For anyone with a UK iTunes account, its £3.99, which will work out as a cheaper option for purchase.

Hmm, at that price I'd almost prefer the real copy but your right, the Feb version was excellent. Dilemma.

Tried this and it worked for video but not sound. Is everyone else getting sound?

I had a look at their blog and it seems like they aren't aware that the browser gets around the geo-restrictions.
However, there are some websites that restrict access to their content (videos) to IP addresses only in those specific countries. These sites often host TV or movie content. For instance, BBC iPlayer is available only to UK users. When Skyfire requests that content on a user’s behalf, since our servers are in the US, BBC does not make that content available to us and we cannot optimize that video for our users in the UK. Same issue with RogersOnDemand.com in Canada, rte.ie in Ireland and so on.

Well put. €6.08 for the printed version in Easons v. €5.49 for the iPad one with embedded trailers etc. Disappointed in that pricetag tbh - expect to see quite a drop-off of interest at that price.

Hi Guys and in particular Mods,

I have found an app for my iPad called Touch BB, it's an app to view forums. It's actually quite good.

However I cannot get this to work with boards.ie just wondering if boards don't allow this app or if i'm not inputing the correct URL to get the fed from boards. Anyone else using this app

    Ta

I found a thread in the past where someone asked about the forums app and the response was along the lines of "it's too much work to bother with". Might be an issue with potential loss of ad revenue either....

Politics.ie works with that app though.

Mmmm...... Already have it saved on my home screen so don't know if the official app will make much difference.

I find it doesn't work anymore. I get a "cannot be played on this device" message when I try BBC iplayer on the iPad now.

Not sure if this has been posted :
RetinaPad Enables Retina Graphics for iPhone Apps in 2x Mode

RetinaPad, a new Cydia tweak by Ryan Petrich, fixes this problem, and it works great with basically any app or game that’s got Retina graphics. Once installed, you’ll have to choose the iPhone apps that you’d like to run with the new 2x mode. Fire up the app, tap on 2x and you’ll notice that the iPad will display clean graphics without pixelation. If the iPhone app has been updated for the Retina Display, it most likely works with RetinaPad out of the box. It’s really neat.

I’ve been able to successfully run in the 2x mode Spotify, Voices 2, Calvetica — they all look great on the iPad now. RetinaPad is available at $2.99 in the Cydia Store.

It still works for me, well to a point anyway.
No problem browsing and loading shows but after a few seconds playback, it buffers for what seems like forever, making it more or less unwatchable. It is still letting me access all the content though.

BTW, ABC player is working again for me, although the quality is pretty shoddy. Im sure its down to the VPN Im using, as with BBC iplayer. Both are perfect on my Mac, just the ipad that they seem to have issues with.

My free run with them is up around May so I dont know if I will subscribe after that.

I live in the UK so no VPN issues for me. However, I also found this morning that anything in the BBC iPlayer schedule that was on TV or radio yesterday or last night could not be played this morning but older stuff could be. Perhaps this is something to do with how the material is now being encoded in preparation for the release of the iPad App? I'll check again later.
