TuneIn Radio is a great app i use it everyday on the iPhone and its even better on the iPad,another good app is Electrobeats by David Guetta i only bought it last week but its great to pass a few hours.

I only got the iPad last week and i was just wondering something about the apps, maybe Vinny would know but there is a lot of good apps from independent developers that work on the iPad such as Eirtext and Darts ,carzone etc,but the facebook app and the sky news ones are only for the iPhone is there a reason why they haven't made a iPad version?

That can't be right can it? Could this happen if he updated iOS to the latest beta?
Talking out his ass. Once an app is downloaded there is nothing Apple can do about it. If there are incompatibilities with new versions of an API, it won't stop the app from installing but you may see crashes or inconsistent behaviour.

Other than that someone changed his iTunes sync options to remove the app and he didn't have backups of the video files, all of which is user error.

You don't download from vlc,you upload videos that you already have on your computer, the instructions on how to do it are on the app.

Richie thanks for that, it is so simple once someone explains it all. Got a movie on there, mp4 format, but audio is horribly out of sync. Can I do anything ?

Nope, but There are advertisements. I paid a few euro for the full version, well worth it, as it plays anything I have thrown at it.

Has anyone else found that the apps Vevo HD, Dragon Dictation and ABC Player have stopped working?

They load to the main screen and then they crash.

    Nah uh, he scarecrowed himself/herself!:)

After around 5 minutes of watching any of the "normal" filmon channels you are asked for a subscription. On the ipod you don't even get 5 minutes. It immediately gives a "you do not have subscription" message.

Mr Andersons good name remains intact! If he had one already. :)

It's true, just used it a few minutes ago and it does indeed ask for a subscription. It had a good run!

    It was great alright.
I actually wouldnt mind paying for a decent service, but the quoted prices are a joke.
Its a shame sky player, on the ipad, is only the four or five channels.

Why would they not have a full sky player app, like online on pc?
Is it a rights issue or laziness or what?

Anyone else download the Empire magazine app?

It's fantastic, really well done, and is cheap for the first issue @ € 2.40. You also feet a free sample mini copy when you download the app, so you can try before you buy.

It's got loads of interactivity, in the same style aaa Wired. Highly recomended.

Good stuff. I used to buy Empire every month for about four years but am never in the newsagent's any more. This could be great.

No, I tried E4 and FilmFour. Both played for about 5 seconds and then prompted me for subscription.

Do you know the price of the subsequent issues?I've tried looking around and unless I'm missing some small print can't see how much it's going to cost. I know there is no subscription anyway.

Looks like €2,39 for Feb Issue, you can see the price at the button left of the page on itunes or Web

Thats the first issue they have online as far as I know, so thats an introductory price.

I`d be willing to pay €5 per issue. Still cheaper than off the shelf and more interaction.:)

That's what I assumed as well. I can't find how much a regular priced issue will be anywhere. No way will it be €2.40. The Economist app goes for €5 so I assume Empire will be roughly similar.

YES!! This is probably the best version of it as well. Had it on PC but this is a much better fit.

Yeh it's extremely well done and really enjoyable. I actually think it's the best game available for any of the apple devices. You might like Newtons Gravity as well. Not as good but very enjoyable.
