About 7.12 but didnt look at the watch. Would have liked to goto 20 but it was 8.30 when I finished. Last 2 tired me out, kinda hilly. Plenty left in the watch tank though. Can feel it to start to come together now but I will need every week.

excellent stuff. In DCM 09 I ran 3:10 off a 66'40 10mile race. I couldnt have done that in training, never mind on a threadmill. Well done, looking good buddy

Whats your target time time for Waterford Oisin and your plan for the upcoming week? Couple of easy runs with a few speed sessions mixed in?

I'm sure you will be in line for a good race whatever you aim for

Not doing waterford mate. Im doing a 50k in a couple of weeks. Only 8.30 pace in prep for the conn ultra so should be grand. Great progress in your training by the way.

10Km in 39.49 in the gym @ 1% incline. Could only get a treadmill in the smelly hot section of the gym. Hate january in the gym.
    Delighted with that session.

Yeah the faster miles take it out of the legs. The show must go on though.

    Yeah i think i am mate:D
10 miles very easy before mini taper for 50k the weekend.
    8.44
    8.23
    8.16
    7.54
    7.52
    7.59
    7.53
    7.49
    7.46
I was really cruising, barely breathing so i decided to open up the legs for a mile at 5k pace maybe, should be about 6.10ish at the moment. I knew some markers that would get me to .25 mile markers so decided not to look at my watch. At .25 way to fast. Same at .5. Same at .75, then i thought go. Was suffering but sped up anyway. Waited on the beep, last 100 metres up a hill.
    New mile pb
    5.39.

Id like to mate but dont think ill have the time. you going down yourself. Id say you would be good for 67 on a flat course.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 389 ✭✭RAL3

Yeh I'm going to head down and give it a blast but I dont know about 67!

You're putting in some great sessions going by your log - great mile pb,especially as it was after 9 others.

I'm still on for giving you the 5 mile rematch someday, only difference is that this time I'd need a 1 mile headstart.............

Even 67.59 mate would be a good improvment. Haha 1 mile headstart, your a darkhorse. 1 Thing ill say is were both miles quicker than that day in adamstown a couple of years ago.

Congrats on the new mile pb Oisin.

I took your advice for the Waterford half and worked out well in the end. 7 more weeks of pain...

Yeah nice new pb for you. Stick in the quality sessions in the last few weeks and a nice taper and you have every chance mate.

Is it a goal race? do you want to do it as fast as possible or just get it done?

How do your times on a threadmill compare when you try and run the same distance outside?

If you are running 67 in training, albeit on a perfectly flat course, you have to target 65 minutes for the real thing.
