    That is not true though.
I saw an episode of King Of Queens on Comedy Central a couple of years ago where someone said something like "sweet mother of God" and the word God was bleeped out. Admittedly this was the British version of the channel but I assume they were following American guidelines.

It's a joke alright. I've never experienced much of it here in Ireland but I had a teacher who taught in England for a while, some of the stories she told us about being given out to by the principal for the most stupid of things...the one that stands out in my mind the most is she wasn't allowed to say "brain-storm" for fear of offending the disabled children. Instead she had to say "thought-shower"...Who honestly sits around all day thinking up these rules? Did anyone ever actually take offense to that term?
Also my Austrian lecturer now, she learned most of her English in England, and she almost jumped out of her skin when she said "black sheep", cuz there was one black girl in the class. None of us copped on what she was going on about for a few minutes! And the girl just laughed at her :P

A new edition replaces the 'N word' with 'slave'
LoL. So now every black person in the book is now a slave?

Is that baa baa black sheep thing actually true though? or is it one of those nonsense daily mail stories like the one about europe regulating the bendyness of bananas against the will of brits.

..its one of the nonsense daily mail stories like the one about europe regulating the bendyness of bananas against the will of brits. Its been appearing since some other tabloid made it up in the 1980's.

Yes PC has gone way too far...the lunatics are in the process of taking over the asylum.

rabble rabble bring back the cat o nine tails etc:D

I actually mean the above by the way. Its not pc to punish people properly for committing crime anymore either in case it would hurt their feelings. Much better to shunt them into overcrowded criminal academies. sure its not their fault they like to gangbang OAPs...just look at the environment they grew up in.

It is. And it's very one sided. It seems that being white, European/American and christian means you should apologize to everyone who isn't - for everything.

They're not slaves-they are voluntary workers with a penchant for bondage.

Will they ban packets of Minstrels next (yummy) in case thats offensive.

It amazes me how people can get so easily offended by the most trivial of stuff. I think we need a court of common sense and let these idiots take their cases there so that everyone else can laugh at them.

    Thought-shower! classic

wonder how long one would get away with mental-attack, thought-tourettes or cognisance-ejaculation

As I mentioned above I heard the word edited out of an episode of King Of Queens a couple of years ago. I have no idea why it was edited out but I assumed they were following American guidelines. I may have been wrong about that but someone decided to edit the word out.

The PC brigade are the loons that appear in the media to defend criminals because they are 'misunderstood',they have infiltrated positions in various organisations and serve no purpose than think of bizzare rules on what we can say and do.

I remember a few years ago Gerry Ryan was discussing a child abuse case saying he would castrate anyone that did it to his kids, some bleeding heart pc'er was on and nearly fainted claiming he couldn't say that about another human. They preach tolerance yet crush our traditions for fear of offending someone.

Frankie Boyle is their sworn enemy.....fact.

I think thats whats genuinely believed. Its just like the reds under the beds stuff during the cold war. tiny isolated insodents of stupidity = massive global conspiracy against free speech!

even this story 'dozens of schools', how many dozen? out of the millions of schools in the US. hardly worth mentioning if you werent a paper that gets most of its readership in the UK by exploiting peoples prejudices about minorities.

I cant point you to an actual physical location you can find all of them in the one place at the one time (mores the pity)

They are well spread out which makes them hard to pinpoint but if you really want to meet them you will have to make them come to you.

I suggest making a relatively innocuous comment which could be construed as either (racist/anti religious or touching upon some hot topic of the day) in the media or somewhere inappropriate like a school etc and then sit back and watch them crawl out from under the rocks bleating all the way to whomever can actually stand to listen to them.

I think it's important to get a common definition of what, exactly, constitutes "PC". Otherwise, we'll all be arguing our own version which is rather pointless.

I will say this: political correctness is not just a label to slap on to whatever you don't like. Using political correctness to refer to defending the rights of criminals is like using racism to refer to people who are against coursing. The two are completely unrelated.

So theyre spread out and hard to detect. Could they be anywhere? could it be that what your saying is actually racist and deserves to be complained about?

how many people need to complain before its a 'Brigade' as opposed to random bored whingers.

My point is that this is exagerated. Yes complaints were made about Top Gear but more were made about X factor.

    Thats entirely true.

However your claim vis a vis "eggs" is unsourced, from a blog, and would seem to be a joke and thus, isn't.

Damnit stop taking away the enemy.

People need a common enemy to unite against these days more than ever. Imagined or not.

I'm sick of feeling bad about saying things like c#ck, tits whenever I want to.

..whatever the hell that was about. All I saw was a clip of yer woman dancing round a chair in some "flashdance" style jig or other....hardly ground breaking sleaze...otherwise I'd have to start watching the poxy thing (with the sound off, of course).

Never feel bad about swearing. Being foul mouthed is part of our rich Irish heritage. Nobody else can get out the likes of "Mother of sufferin Jaysus" the way we can either.

If you need an enemy, focus on the racists, imperialists and the like.

Well I suppose I'm guilty of casting a wide net.

I do slap the PC Brigade sticker on any spokespeople activists I see speaking up for the rights of rapists/murderers etc. I think its a worrying trend when they seem to get more airtime and are listened to more than the actual victims of crime - call me backward but I think you have forfeited your rights if you commit theses crimes but there always seems to be some bleeding heart fighting on their behalf (which is fine) and seemingly getting more airtime and thus concessions than the person or families of the person that has had the crime committed against them.

then again maybe this is all in my head too
