Another mammoth change on the 12z.

    Madness at this stage.

Northern areas back in the game.

That is an epic upgrade. I thought it was petering to a non event last night. Had expectations of some snowfall nationwide but not on that scale!

    EXCITEMENT UPGRADE!

This is gas, but i suppose the 6z was a wobble we had had 3-4 runs before hand which had it on us then 6z took it away quickly.

The low is different though, not as intense but further north, less chance of moderation for coastal areas with widespread powder snow, widely 8-10cm while upto 20-30cm in some lucky spots.

NAE slides intense slot of snow into southern Ulster north mids and widespread moderate snow.

Does this upgrade include Leinster/Dublin/Wicklow today?

Severe disruption. Very, very significant snowfalls.

12z has a second worse attack Saturday night and during Sunday.

Either a tonne of sleet or the biggest snowfall since you know when would happen.

At that intensity you'd think sleet on the coasts though, blizzards and huge drifts inland.

    And thats the second helping.

Once again, crazy upgrade. It's really hard not to get my hopes up looking at those charts, really hard. Unfortunately they will change again but just seeing a 975mb low in that position nearly gives me a heart-attack.

Yes. The East is down for some serious action going on those run of charts for Sunday afternoon into the night hours.

I could be (and probably am) wrong but how can these charts be reliable given the dramatic shifts in potential outcomes. I know it is obviously better to use them than to stick your finger in the air but anything as seemingly changeable as the information provided should propbably be treated with some caution.

I still believe the east will get hammered on Saturday night though:D

Hmmm. That means if you can't fit everything into the freezer just leave it outside overnight on the 20th/21st. It'll be grand in the morning!

Those charts would suggest to me the East getting more percip than was previously thought ?

It'll be grand 'till Christmas day at least in most areas going by the 12z, daytime temps don't get above freezing in a lot of the country for days!

MAx temps for 15:00 on Wed 22 ...

An awful lot more. I dont even know how much snow that would be, but it would be a lot.
