It shows how lazy the RTE staff are when they wont even investigate the basics of the stories they're reporting. These people are being paid insane money every year and for what? To show up everyday at 6 to read something and then disappear again until 6 the next day without doing anything in between?

    Bullshít I tell ya!!@!

If Tubritys radio show today is anything to go by, wikileaks is terrible, and the only people with sympathy for Assange are leftie nutbags.

"Tubritys radio show" isn't anything to go by.

    Ever.

and brillian soaps like Fair Sh!tty?

like when they do a storyline about underage drinking/insert "controversial" topic here, and then at the end " . . if you have been affected by any of the issues raised in this programme call this number . ."

Going to ring that number someday:
    "Hello? Hi, I can't act either, I think I need help . . ."

'RTE? Howye....listen....I think my 'Dubelin' accent is crap'

I thought it said a lot about the professionalism of Tommy Gorman when I saw this on the news earlier. How can you take a reporter seriously when he obviously hasn't got a clue about what he's talking about?

I meant purely in RTE terms. I was actually embarrassed to type on an anonymous internet message board that I listened to that show, how bad is that?

Didn't Tubridy give out about that 'vote if we should have an abortion' website even though it was obvious to any right-thinking person that it was a hoax?

So, don't listen to that skinny lad - he's just Spud from Trainspotting in a decent suit.

Firstly, there has been very little, if anything, that wikileaks have released that we didnt know or at least have been aware of before. The northern bank robbey happened 6 years ago and within hours the IRA were the prime suspects. nothing new or revelatory.

Secondly, having watched the report, it's rather rich for Peter Robinson to pontificate and moralise about the behaviour of others when he lost any authority he had.

Thirdly, RTE and the quality of their output has definitely deteriorated to the point where we seriously have to question how the money is spent.

Is Ryan Tubridy seriously worth what must be approaching a seven figure salary. Absolutely not and he's not alone. A well trotted out argument but valid all the same.

So the man is supposed to recognize every pun instantly on live radio?
    A tall task

But easy on boards.ie when you have all the time in the world here and not hundreds of thousands of listeners tuning in live

I had to Google the Gavin Charlotte one too. The other guy talking to Pat made it awkward and cringe worthy. He could have easily replied "Pat, that's just a pun about Gavin and Charlotte Church" and they could have moved on.

He could also have said, stop talking about fanny puns on air

'Prepare for all-out cyber war' Government sites braced for attack by pro-WikiLeaks 'activists'

    http://www.independent.co.uk/news/media/online/prepare-for-allout-cyber-war-2159567.html

    Also.

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/wikileaks/8200154/WikiLeaks-government-websites-could-be-hacked-in-revenge-attacks.html

Again this is the same type of bull sh*t scare mongering tactics that we have received from the authorities / media immediately post 9/11. The more the populations read this sort of crap the more they will be conditioned into wanting done about this "serious" problem. There is very close parallels between this and the post 9/11 hype..

But he didn't recognize the pun, nobody knows every single pun.

Easy when you have google in front of you and read a post here.
Not so easy with hundreds of thousands of listeners checking your every reaction live

Ah, but everyone here knows everything.....

So everything the 'authorities' say is "scare mongering" and the proud and noble lads who inhabit the musty and crusty underworld of cyber crime are all harmless idealists and not backed by more sinister forces trying to bring everybody back to the stone age where they can disregard human decency a la The Taliban and keep people in penury.?

More than likely however with statements like this they are really asking for trouble in so many ways.
IT experts have warned that Whitehall is particularly vulnerable to cyber attacks because many computers still run on an outdated version of Internet Explorer which is known to be at particular risk to hackers. The Coalition has ruled out an upgrade on the grounds of cost.

Last month it was a killer virus that some unknown "enemy" was going to unleash and send the world back into the dark ages. Of course it's blown over now and been shown to be the nonsense that it usually is. Britain is scared of it's own shadow at this stage.

    Sorry if posted before:

Michael Moore has offered 20,000 toward bail money for Assange via a note to the court. Link Here

Furthermore, direct quote: "I am publicly offering the assistance of my website, my servers, my domain names and anything else I can do to keep WikiLeaks alive and thriving as it continues its work to expose the crimes that were concocted in secret and carried out in our name and with our tax dollars."

Great self-publicist but I admire him for continuing to back his convictions with a bit of his hard earned.

People need to separate Assange from Wikileaks.
