God the Bugatti is comically fast. Doing 130mph in it feels like about 50 in a normal car.

Is the track for high speed tests available at all on this or does it need to be unlocked?

+1 to that and also the Top Gear Test Track, its not available for Arcade or Practice mode :(

I got the Bugatti too but I cant get the oppertunity to get it up to 250mph, 235 is all i get to before i have to slow down again.

Just goin thru my garage there to sell a few cars and make a bit of cash, and man was i shocked when I got to the VW Kubelwagen typ82 (the world war 2 type thing). I won it in some race and forgot about it. It's got a sale price of 73,500 Cr..

Now that's easy bucks for something i will never use!!!!!!!

Yeah, I took some photos of it and sold it on.

I got it the launch day in Xtravision in Finglas for €54.99. Might have gone down a fiver or so or you might pick a 2nd hand one for €45.00 in there now.

I got my hands on the newer Nissan GTR, the V spec one and I don't think its that good, too much under steer. Saying that I have not done it up yet so hopefully it will get better.

On the other hand I finally got that M3 csl I was after and what can I say, probably one of the best handling cars I've got yet for a production model but its not a monster on the straights since it has only got 360BHP but if ye come across this in the second hand garage get it, its cheap and down right fun to drive. I reckon with upgrades it will hammer the GTR.

Did you buy it or win it? If you won it what race was it?

After every race I went back into the second hand garage and it was there today, she was black so I got a silver/grey spray job. Just keep trying the used cars, I only got it today and I got the game when it was released and played it most days. Good luck:o

You know when you go to demo a car before you buy it, what is that track? Looks like a long country road kinda thing. I've love to actually race on it. Is a available to play on? If not I'll be annoyed :(

You unlock it by coming 1st in the hippy van race :p

yeah its a bit of an arse but you'll get it in the end. Was a lot of talk about that race earlier in the thread if yea wanna look back.

It's actually not that hard, they have a habit of braking way to early given the speeds they're going at.

Tuned, Turbo and German races in Expert are such a doddle. Historical cars, not so much. What cars are people using for that? My upgraded Corvette Stingray is getting laughed at.

Meh I wouldnt really call the tuned and turbo a doddle :o

For the tunes race I used the NSX stealth car and still had trouble keeping distance between myself and some green S2000, in fact It beat me in the very last race.

And as for the turbo I still don't understand how cars that are heavier and have less bhp then me are flying by me

Could be a badly geared car. Unfortunately you can only tweak final drive in gearboxes. Where are they overtaking you mle1234?

soft racing wheels make a massive difference.

I used my fully upgraded Ford GT for the Tuned and just beat them on speed alone. Used the Bugatti for the Turbo. Honestly, I'm not even that good at this game, but I found those easy. I just had faster cars than them.

I managed to win it yesterday. Throw the van into every corner bar the hammerhead. Braking is for the week

I wouldnt recommend braking for that long. Only a second or two should do.

Usually at corners but mostly when I spin out in the last lap or two because of worn tires.

@Sisko : They do but there useless for a 5 lap race :(

I used the Bugatti for the the first race but cant use it for the other ones as it under steers.

It sounds like you're either braking too early or you're not on the throttle quick enough on the exit. Racing softs should last much longer than five laps.

Lads what did ye use for the historic racing car club. I have over 900000 credits, what should I buy and where. Im having no luck at all. BTW I got that stock M3csl down to 7:34 on the Nurburgring, love that car:D

For the historic you wont buy anything at this stage to compete.

Follow the guide in the link below.

I cant remember at this stage but I think I used the Mustang Mach1 fully modded. Its all about getting in front and blocking.

Also, the All Star Championship is another complete boIIix. The way I did it was to get to Level 21 and compete in Ride Like the Wind with the Mazda Furai Concept, you win it in one of the lesser races.

Give it max downforce and you'll whip everything in the corners, slipstream on the straights till you're in front then sail into the distance until the last lap when the AI usually come to get you then its dirty Schumacher block time!!

Then you win the Toyota Minolta 88c which can compete agains the other Sportscars in the All Star Champ.

I've a killer set up for the Minolta for the pad if anyones interested.

Using a heavily tuned Cougar '67 quite a lot at the moment, it's up to 561bhp with a few more mods to buy for it. I'm using it quite a lot in the B-Spec mode and leaving my driver to race away, quite a handy way to earn more credits.

Been playing this since release and have been lovin it. so just finished all the licences today have a good chunk of the special events done up to my current level 15 gonna hit the A spec races soon haven't done one yet lol!

So far only 2 proper problems i can see with the game.

    1. The AI is terrible, it like racing trains on a track and if your in their way all they do is try to drive straight through you no mater what its a bit of a let down The odd time the AI decides to race.

    2. The disqualification rules seem to be a bit random/stupid, sometimes you can tap cars and sometimes you can wallop em then sometimes the second you scrape one your done or if your on the inside and the stupid AI hits you as you turn your disqualified wtf!

Other than those 2 things (oh and the stupid intermediate top gear test track race) the game is fantastic imo

Played about 7 hours straight of this last night (my first proper session with it), starting at about midnight. :o

Really enjoying it. Jasus there is some money to be won from those special events. When I had gotten to about 500k I took it upon myself to buy my first super car car. After a review of what cars would be needed for future races etc etc I went for a Ferrari 599.

Wow. No regrets. 610hp from stock, I rolled up for the first Italian event against other monsters such as Alfa Romeo 156s and a couple of FIATs. :)

Also won the Ferrari only race with stock settings, but needed to up things for the supercar races when facing the likes of the Veyron etc. Got her up to 764hp and still managed to finish 3rd or 4th, so then put on the soft racers. Be Jesus they make some difference. The last two races I played before finally hitting the hay saw me get two rather nice motors landing in my garage.

Ferrari 430 Scuderia '08 and Maserati Gran Turismo S '08. Mmmmmmm.
