Personally I believe it is but to be honest I will still eat burgers, steaks or whatever. The animals are mostly looked after correctly before slaughter so I guess I don't feel so bad about it.

    Plus they are tasty.

It is when you try to carry a whole pig on your back.

If God didn't want us to eat animals, he wouldn't have made them out of food.

My ancestors didn't struggle and battle their way to the top of the food chain just so I could eat flowers.

If everyone had to start to kill their own meat instead of getting it served to them on plates there would be a hell of a lot more vegetarians around.

Ah would you come off of it, sure meat is good and healthy for you. Dont be letting those lefty vegetarian types make you feel guilty about enjoying a bit of meat on your plate. Sure look at all the jobs involved as well, its good for the economy.

You slaughter defenceless spuds and carrots and the like too but where are the plant rights activists? Its a fcukin disgrace.

There's no need for any of it , we can get enough to survive from licking stones.

Ive had to shoot a few cows in my time for humane slaughter, it hasnt put off the meat one bit. That salad stuff is for rabbits, I need a good bit of meat to fill me up.

Meh. If everyone had to grow and harvest their own fruit and vegetables there would be a hell of a lot more meat eaters around.

Nope, damn tasty is what it is. Bit of good exercise if you're hunting your own, too.

It is a tough subject, I would love to be able to be a vegetarian but it is impossible to give up chicken, beef etc.

Unfortunately, bambi is about the tastiest of the meats, so unfortunately, venison is always on the menu.

To expand on that .... is having pets a form of slavery?

If everyone was forced to kill the animal themselves tomorrow to have meat, then a lot of people would be put off. If it had been the norm all along then people would probably be used to it and see it as a normal part of life. Wouldnt have quite as huge an affect like.
Personally, I don't believe meat is murder.

Heifer whines could be human cries
    closer comes the screaming knife
    this beautiful creature must die
    this beautiful creature must die

    A death for no reason
and death for no reason is MURDER
and the flesh you so fancifully fry
is not succulent, tasty or nice
it is death for no reason

And death for no reason is MURDER
and the calf that you carve with a smile
    is MURDER
and the turkey you festively slice
    is MURDER
do you know how animals die?

    Kitchen aromas aren't very homely
it's not "comforting", "cheery" or "kind"
it's sizzling blood and the unholy stench
    of MURDER
it's not "natural", "normal" or kind
the flesh you so fancifully fry

    The meat in your mouth
    as you savour the flavour
    of MURDER
    NO, NO, NO, IT'S MURDER
    NO, NO, NO, IT'S MURDER
    who hears when animals cry?

No, there'd be a lot less vegetarians around, because they're weaker and therefore easier targets for us carnivores.

All ya gotta do is prise a weaker one away from the herd.

I hate all this crap spouted by animal rights activists about eating meat.

Simple fact is these animals wouldn't exist nowadays if we didn't use them for food. How many people do you know with a pet cow or chicken? When's the last time you saw wild cows?

Eat meat and enjoy it, it's damn tasty.

I know how animals die. I'm comfortable that when I'm responsible it's quick and clean. I hate sensationalist twaddle like that. And don't give anything about it not being natural. Humans are predators. I'm driven to hunt. Cold air, fresh breezes and snow underfoot and I want nothing more than to hunt. It's what I think of all day I'm stuck working inside. Now that? That's not a natural thing, so presumably people who'll decry meat as an unnatural pursuit for humans are also posting this while availing of natural internet, on a natural laptop, from a cave.

Sure look at all the jobs involved as well, its good for the economy.

The transportation of meat around the world has huge negative impact on the environment.

I turned veggie 3 weeks ago because I am an animal lover and felt hypocritical eating them. In the main, most animals are killed 'humanely' but because it's a money making industry, corners are going to be cut.

I'm sure a cow loves being stuffed into a trailor, driven for hours, then brought to a slaughter house were it can hear the distress of other cows before being killed.

    mur·der
    [mur-der]
    –noun
    1.
Law . the killing of another human being under conditions specifically covered in law.

Theoretically if you applied human law to animals, then yes, technically it would be murder. But human law doesn't apply to animals, they can't comprehend human law. When it comes to killing, animals don't know the concept of murder. They just know surviving and not surviving.

They kill each other far more brutally than we kill them in the first world. To be honest, if I were an animal, and I had the choice to die from

    a) being mauled to death by a carnivorous predator and having my internal organs ripped out for me to see as I lay dying,
    b) dying in the wilderness of disease, old age or starvation and slowly being eaten alive by scavengers, or
    c) being shot in the head before I even know what's going on,

    I'd definitely go with c.
