I think a lot of protesters don't know what they are letting themselves in for. Yes, you can go along and protest peacefully and in a civil manner. No, you are not allowed to block public highways and throw objects at peace officers.

I think the Garda overreacted. The other police were not hitting people. Of course, Sinn Fein are an easy target, although many of them have seen far worse. I doubt the SF td was phased very much by it.

This has made many people very angry with the police. I would hope that protesters will not be motivated to bring weapons with them.

Just wondering and im not having a go at all or trying to rise you, just curious what would you have done faced by that if you were a lone garda who had to deal with that what would your reaction have been?

Well I would never be a Garda. I would not like to be put in a position where I would have to do something that I dont want to.

I would have let them go by, my excuse would have been that there are too many of them.

I wouldn't be a Garda for any money.

And as for making excuses, what I meant was I wouldn't feel it worthwhile risking my safety to stop a large group.
