Hmmm my bf is getting a bit too close to finding out what his christmas present is >_<

I've already guessed what mine is so I guess I shouldn't get too annoyed about it but.. argh

It's part of what we do! It's fun. I haven't been able to guess what the other gift is though. It's something electronic, has a battery, medium size, rectangular. Apparently not a phone but I can't rule that out because when I guessed the other one he said it wasn't what I'd said!

My one sounds terrible when he asks questions but now he's guessed that it's a book so it's only a matter of time. It's always fun ^_^

I don't have a boyfriend. Or whatever the female version is either. But I do have a mother and sister.

All my presents will be made of wool, of that I can be sure.

I wanna have kids just so I can justify buying a huge amount of meccano pieces and sets and things.
But surely as an engineering student I need them as a mechanics study aid. Right? RIGHT???!

I have this very strong need to play with meccano. Why oh why don't I currently have a set?!! :(
You really need some Meccano, for study purposes ofc >_>

He'll only find out when you give it to him. Dodge those questions like you were Bertie Ahern, he'll never find out that way!

I just got told to go away for trolling facebook of all things...my life is complete :p I'm only used to trolling 4chan, this all feels so new and shiny haha! Now back to college work for me, it sucks but has to be done :(

I don't dodge questions. I'd rather answer truthfully. It's more fun.

    Him: "Is it sexual?"
    Me: "Yes"
Him: "Am I gonna like how it feels?"
Me: "Depends on how you look at it and how you use it. You might be disgusted by it."
Him: "Does it involve bodily fluids?"
    Me: "Yes, sort of"
Him: "Omg is it a painting made with your menstrual blood?!!!"
    Me: o.O .. "wth...."

He should like it though. Answering them truthfully is something you like doing, just not saying exactly what it is:pac: It does sound intriguing though when you dont know what it is exactly...if I was in his shoes, I'd feel the same and probably ask lots of questions haha!

    the other 6?
it's showing in 2 screens in the savoy, picked the big screen on purpose, so much better, drug dealers have better tellys than some of the other screens in the savoy.
watching harry potter with a real-life harry potter adds to the cinema experience also :pac:

we lost one of our housemates the last night out, such a headache trying to get hold of people when they're drunk, good job it wasnt me coz I didn't even bring my phone or keys which probably wasn't the wisest decision ever esp since I didn't have a minder :P
Next weekend should be good aye.

apparently we watched 4 harry potters???
still haven't a clue of the story, oh well, my housemates have all the dvds, I might slowly get through them in secret.

I resent that. It's quite an art to be that lazy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 537 ✭✭✭DonnieScribbles

Arts is more of a catch-all term, not art per se. The 's' makes all the difference! I don't think any Arts student anywhere would have an excuse to watch Harry Potter... and only a certain proportion of them are lazy :pac:

In Spain an arts degree is actually called a humanities degree. Makes more sense, imo.

    Also, Harry Potter sucks ass.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 537 ✭✭✭DonnieScribbles

Yeah, it does. Would it still be referred to as a BA though? Then the arts term is still in there, agh. When I studied film we were part of the department of humanities but it was still an arts degree. It was more correct in that case though, as we were making films and film is an art, etc etc

I saw the new HP, there is a certain scene involving dancing that had me squirming in my seat.... shudder.

There used to be different denominations (licenciatura is what any level 8 degree was called I think), but now that Bologna came in they've changed everything and I don't know the names anymore. But I think there wasn't a distinction between bachelor degrees as there is in Ireland. I think they just said it was a degree in whatever you did, rather than saying BA, BSc, BEng, etc. I'm not at all sure though.

My degree was supposed to be a BS but the course got reviewed a bit and a couple of tech modules were dropped in favour of design modules so it was changed to a BA :/
