Black Ops removed all the fun that MW2 brought to the table, i miss being able to to run around with a hand gun or shotgun and still get a few kills.
Shotgun: one shot, one kill. Reloads slow, though (using the shotgun where you see the shells on the side). Handgun, use duels, so tap tap tap, maybe 6, and they die, but only up close, as the accuracy on akimbo pistols is 'orrible.

    =-=

Found the maps to be good. Nukedown is insanse with 18 players on Demolition.

Liking the spawns, as it's not all centred around the one spot where the enemy can spawn-rape you, but the spawning needs some tweaking so that you don't spawn so close to (or infront of) the enemy.

Loving the dedicated servers, and the low wait time inbetween games. Dislike that you can't change classes between games, but meh, not a big con. In MW2, you'd play 3 rounds, the host would quit, you'd get a laggy host who wouldn't f**k off, you all leave, you join another server, laggy, you leave, you join, same laggy server, you leave, you join, you get a few more games... a minute inbetween the games could turn into 10 minutes, as people leave and join, a new host is found, they leave, another host gets found... but in BO, you join. You game. Quick wait. You game. And so forth.

There's no justification for making people camp-snipe if it takes 2-3 upper body bullets to kill, but Josh Olin wont see a problem that nobody snipes because he doesn't die from them any more so looks like we're stuck with it...
Headshots kill with one bullet. Upper body shots, meh. Go play HC if you want oneshotanywhereinthebodyequalskill :P

Dislike that one of my two MW2 perks, ninja and speed, are in the spame perk cat, but meh, it just means no-one else can choose them.

Killstreaks like the rc car are not nearly as class as seeing a precision airstrike tear across a map.
The car is loltastic. Unless thee enemy is driving it, and everyone jumps on top of a bench, so that the mouse RC doesn't get them :D

F**KING HATE THE DOLPHIN DIVING THAT IT MAKES ME DO!!! I run to a bomb, go prone to plant. Instead, I dolphin dive on top of the bomb, and get shot when planting

Aside from that, I'm liking Bops lots. Find the fact that you have to pick and choose the weapons allows people at start have different guns than someone else, if that makes sense. Also liking that I can buy a rifle, and stick a scope on it there and then.

So a shot in the chest with a sniper shouldn't kill someone? That makes as much sense as a bullet not going where it's aimed for 2 seconds after going downscope, oh wait.

Have you played HC btw? you can't see someone for long enough to snipe because they all camp due to the lack of killcams.

Nuketown is a good map for certain game types! the best being Demolition! its great craic! Other than that its fairly sh!t but overall this game is such a big improvment MP wise to MW 1 and 2. I never got into them online. I just thought it got very boring very fast, and it wasn't a challenge, Any noob can camp for 5 minutes and pilot a chopper gunner after a series of kills using strikes and what not.
I have yet to be noob tubed in BLOPS. This with so much more is what killed MW. Where treyarch have fallen are the graphics, sound,SP IMO. The first modern warfare had the best SP out of the lot and was just epic. MW2 wasn't too bad but wasn't better. black ops SP is sh!te and good at the same time! I don't like the way they try to keep the gamer feeling interactive with silly pointless commands to press x numerous times! Its just silly! "Press X to Hook up" These type things are just pointless and altho yes they are in previous SP's in the series they take the biscuit in this one imo. Am I the only one who gets annoyed by this?

The black ops MP is just class. It has its problems but they will be sorted out soon. The maps are class, they win it for me. Good big maps allow for much better tactics to be implied when working in a team in a party. The guns are class and I love the system of having to buy your equipment! I heard some guy complain about this and how he "just liked the old way cause it did it for ya" as you roll up the ranks! thats BS and boring! There is so much more customization and lots more to keep you interested in this game! You don't just breeze up the ranks for your next prestige!

I'm trying not to sound so negative cause I am sure its a good game.... I'm just hating the era its set in. I wish I could look past it but I cant :-(

i hate false optimism more so. or the stacks of folk claiming they prefer it to MW2 when they don't really; sure its the new COD n all sunshine n lolliplops to some but it was always gonna be a step backward so to speak.. just i didn't expect such lack of innovation with map design my issue with the game is the maps show a lack of ideas already in the series. just compare em to WAW those maps were terrific, real back to basics stuff here with 'jungle'; a firing range n the bizarre n completely naff 'nuketown'. strikes me as an ill fitting map pack addition so i look forward to those :/ there's a laziness here alright.. not exactly captivating my attention as it is but i'll be completely bored of it very, very soon :)

Wait.... who are you to decide what "folk" prefer ? Lack of innovation with the map design... in your opinion. Dont try and speak for everyone when its pretty clear that alot of people DO prefer it to MW2.

    Black Ops
i don't think that there's less exploits makes it a better game, i think its a distinctly poorer down to atrocious multiplayer map design as i stated. as for the campaign i can't comment not touched it yet.. but i saw a poll which voted MW2 the best and black ops 3rd, so.. that remains to be seen.

After only playing the epic SP until last night, I'm mixed with regards the MP.

Game itself feels similar, looks fine, plays fine, sounds fine as well, in my opinion despite the complaints, but one thing that was really annoying me was the spawning system. People spawn randomly all over the place, including right behind you, or in some cases, literally all around you. It feels crazy and all over the shop in most maps, leaving no room for anything other than an entirely fluid game of paranoia where you're constantly watching your back. Which isn't a dreadful thing in some ways, but there's no sense of the 'x team vs y team' divided on the map, it feels more like a crazy free for all. Some maps were worse than others.

All in all, pretty decent, and the game as a package holds up well to MW2, but I couldn't really consider it better than MW2, just different, and not in a bad way.

One bullet of any gun would kill someone. But, it's a game.

Have to admit, no. BC2 HC put me off HC for life.

I'm gonna say COD4 is still miles ahead of both games in terms of stability, playability, structure and overall gameplay....both in single and multiplayer

Out of interest, what makes you think the maps are "attrocious"?

Okay, Nuketown is a bit frenetic, and you're screwed if the enemy bring out either Gunship due to spawning outside. And Firing Range in Domination is a bit mental since you can overlook 2 flags from 2 different buildings, but I've had some fun games in both of them. (The only thing that really annoys me is how Nuketown gets voted back 4-5-6 times in a row, because all the kiddies love it as it's easier to get some kills in it)

But other than that, I can't think of any map that has such poor design that it stands out in my mind, or that are "broken" for certain gamemodes. From what I've played so far, I think most of the maps are pretty good, with some being excellent.

So what flaws are there in them that make them so bad in your view?

I still haven't voted by the way. It's so hard to compare a game that is out a week, with one that I've played solidly for a full year.

There are huge amounts of positives for Black Ops, and the word from Treyarc is they are going to be releasing more fixes this Friday including the improvement of the sounds, such as footsteps etc. Once they fix the whole Party system and getting into games, I think my vote would go to BOps. But I do think that MW2 had a certain X factor that made it a fabulous game (when you didn't get into lobbies full of dicks who spent the whole time OMA/DC noobtubing etc). So it'll still be close.

    Black Ops
SP-wise Mason is no Soap! Didn't feel the same "f*ck yeah this chap is hardcore" buzz. Also there wasn't the Nooooooooooooo moment when any of Masons buddies get done in like there was when ghost got shot.

In short you don't end up identifying with the characters as much in this one.

And you're talking about CoD4 straight out of the box, with no patches, yes?

As a self confessed MW2 fanboy/junkie and someone who didn't like WOW/Treyarch I fully expected to play BOps for a week and then vote for MW2. Have to say I'm really enjoying BOps and can't vote against it.

    Black Ops
While i'll say I think BO's is a better game, I voted for MW2 in the poll because i enjoyed it a lot more. BO's is just more of the same. Apart from a few tweaks there's not much difference apart from skins.

As I've rabbled on before about games which are part of a series the key to the next title being more successful than the previous is by how much they can add/change. I don't mean totally changing it to make it rubbish obviously, but many people who have played the COD series for a good while like COD4 the best. I know i do, the reason for me is look at the difference between COD4 and COD2. It's vast! I know you'll say oh it's because of the time lines but there's much much more than that. COD2 for me is a close second because of the improvements from the Original COD.

Where as look at MW2 and COD4, there's a few large changes but not many. Enough to keep most people happy, but look at MW and BO's. The fact that people are able to compare BO's so easily to MW2 shows just how similar they are. So what little changes the made got really old really quickly. For me anyway, like that i can't speak for others.

I'm very much considering trading it in for something else. I almost have to force myself to play it at this stage.

They are essentially the same game. I never see a major difference from one COD game to the next. Doesn't stop you all from going out and buying it year after year...

I prefer black ops. Just thinking, I don't think I've seen one noobtuber in this game. For that reason alone its better

couldnt have said a truer word.. blacks ops is like cod4, not as complicated unlike mw2
