Richard Bruton is derailing this. Let fintan finish his point. The idea of a referendum to choose which method to impement the cuts is a good one.

Pat's right, Killeen's getting away with murder here. Just shut the gob, keep the head down and it'll all blow over.

Oh wait, he's awake. Brian Cowen's an "honourable man".:D

Bored senseless of all the waffle at this stage so I'm not really paying attention, but what was the quip that Fintan said about pregnancy that got the audience chuckling?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,497 ✭✭✭omahaid

That was class - Tony Kileen says Brian Cowen is an honourable man and the audience started laughing, brilliant :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,457 ✭✭✭✭Sardonicat

Same ole same ole. Prepered speel reeled off regardless of the question asked. Pat should not let him away with it.

Tony Killeen suggests that "Cowen is an honourable man" and the audience laughs....the look on his face was almost worth the TV licence!

Having failed miserably on that pathetic lie, he tries to pretend that Fintan O'Toole suggested Seanie Fitz as a candidate to run the country!

I'm surprised that Fintan didn't walk off the set in disgust!

Is there no end to the amount of lies and spin that an FF member will attempt ?

He'll probably be in the Queen's New Year honours list alright for his efforts to hand back the nation to her.

Yes. We have referendums on EU treaties and stuff to do with the constitutution. Surely what is happening now changes our constitution? We are accepting outside funding and letting outside agencies dictate monetary policy? Someone should challenge the constitutionality of it all. Is there a Ray Crotty out there to do this again?

Its good to see some people suggesting political reform, we really should think about it and now's the time.

    Man in audience right...
    reform politics
and get rid of half the politicians, elect business people

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,425 ✭✭✭telekon

Political reform? The turkeys voting for xmas? Dont think so!

Only hope is the IMF reforming the system.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,457 ✭✭✭✭Sardonicat

electoral reform seems to be an issue amongst the studio audience and with the public at large, IMO. If one good thing can come out of theis disgusting mess it could be the end of clientelism and civil war politcs. Ultimately, that's up to us.

Typical FF tactics - deflect from their f**kups by slandering and discrediting the opposition; it's been used by everyone from Ahern to O'Dea.

Good poll question for once! I'd say the IMF/EU option will get over 60%.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,643 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Silly poll question. If you asked people at the moment whether they'd prefer the country was run by an Irish government or a consortium of chimps using a spinning wheel to make decisions, most would say the latter.

To be honest, I'd fancy our chances of a better country with the chimps in charge!
