Yes. We have referendums on EU treaties and stuff to do with the constitutution. Surely what is happening now changes our constitution? We are accepting outside funding and letting outside agencies dictate monetary policy? Someone should challenge the constitutionality of it all. Is there a Ray Crotty out there to do this again?

electoral reform seems to be an issue amongst the studio audience and with the public at large, IMO. If one good thing can come out of theis disgusting mess it could be the end of clientelism and civil war politcs. Ultimately, that's up to us.

The Frontline is like a circus with Pat as ringmaster and an audience full of sheep. I'm watching it now and you'd expect it to lift its game today but it hasn't. I don't think it makes a valuable contribution to opinion forming. Its disturbing that Fintan O'Toole is dominating the panel members, one of whom could be leader/deputy leader of the next Government. No sign of change there then. Fintan's idea to appoint a taskforce to run the country is interesting, but as I'm neither "demoralised or bewildered" (as the Irish people have been labelled today) and rely on my own wits and ideas to get me by, perhaps I'm not the right demographic for the Frontline.

I think we're going no-where unless there is real reform of the political system.
