This is the internet, it wouldn't be the same without slagging people off.
What did they expect to log on to find everyone saying how gorgeous they all are? That kind of reaction would only occur if I went on the show.
exactly, the lads got their fair share of been battered on LIVE tv.
i myself am bald, and id love to go on a date with a hairdresser, but that wouldnt matter even if she was a waitress, you know
you'd be very surprised who has had hair implants, johnny depp girls, hate to say it but hes had a flap procedure. matthew mcnaughey or whatever hes called, same job. must be tough at the top if your head aint round but square
i wonder, if the guys made the mistake in what they do for a living? no gardas, solicitors, doctors, dentists or even rugby players yet on the show, lets see the lights shine brightly!
ive a better idea, why not, the last 2 girls with lights on, the girl not picked, then goes up on stage, the stage rotates to 30 male contestant and the show begins, and vice versa. a clever twist?0 -

No I wasn't being petty at all, you were though. You highlighted one typo in an otherwise perfectly formed post while I made an observation that quite a few of the female posters grammar and punctuation on this thread was quite literally appalling........which it is, look for yourself.
I was merely applying your logic to the discussion. That being that if I point out a mistake I can "rest my case".
Apologies if I'm wrong, but you really do come across as petty. Some instances of this in bold below:Horrible show! It makes me thank god that I am married. I would hate to be single if these are the sort of delusional women that are inflicted on the single blokes of this country.
I'd like to respond to this by saying that not all women are delusional, and we are not "inflicted" upon the single men of this country. In fact in most cases we're welcomed with open arms.If the girls were all stunning or had really bubbly personalities then their over the top rejections would seem some what justified but the majority of them are not even good-looking and they all seem to have superiority complexes and ridiculously high standards.
So if a girl is good looking that gives her carte blanche to reject a man in a cruel manner? Strange logic.So you are either stuck up or a just a hypocrite.
I doubt you'd be old enough but if you were it sounds like you'd fit right in! (that's not a complement btw)
That's just rude. The girl you were responding to here merely suggested she would be just as fussy. If a girl wants to be fussy that's her prerogative. If she wants to reject a man that's her prerogative too. Sure, they can do it nicely and politely, but we've already established that the women on this show were picked for the purpose of controversy.You won't be Irish and female if you weren't
More generalisations.Why is it sad? It's like calling somebody who likes eating steaks instead of burgers sad. Btw the majority of foreign women in this country are quite intelligent and are often bilingual so saying that they cannot understand English is very derogatory (especially since alot of Irish girls can't even string a proper sentence together in their native tongue).
And generalisations again. I really don't know where you get off spouting this rubbish like it was gospel. If you want to believe it then that's fine, but I find being judgmental one of the most unattractive traits an individual can possess.

But yes you make a good point too. When the bloke gets to turn off the lights at the end, leaving on the light of the girl he wants a date with, it does come across as though he's just picking the most attractive girl. Sort of makes the other rounds and everything they've said previously a little superfluous. 0 -

It is exactly that he gets to choose who he has his eye on who is better,only if one girl leaves her light on is the guy stuck with no choice
While i do think the girls are a little fussy sometimes.You really can not help who you fancy.Like a guy been smaller than you.
I do however believe if you give someone a chance and not base it on looks, you never know what you may find.But in that case you have to get to know the persons personality in order for that to happen.
If you really do not fancy someone on a show like that,something like that will never happen,and you can only go by what you see and what you hear.0 -

Mm I dunno.. I've been keeping up with this the last few weeks and while not a patch on the UK version (mostly to the ****e editing, canned audience that makes 50 sound like 500 :rolleyes:, and the fact that Ray Foley is definitely no Paddy), it's disturbingly watchable!!
As for the girls themselves, they still seem very trigger happy with the lights out button (felt sorry for the guy last week who's "date" admitted straight after that she had meant to switch off too! :eek:) but there's one or two that aren't bad either.... 0 -

oh which girl was this!? I just watched it as i had it sky plussed,
In fairness the girls are all quite pretty and some of them are bitches, but there are no say middle of the road girls, or modest girls they're all very bubbly why are there no 'ordinary' girls who dont wear a ton of make up on it, it would make it more realistic
have to admit the UK one is a million times better, the echo around the studio in the irish one is awful really cheap0 -
