Women Do Not Enjoy Sex

    Or so says Stephen Fry....
The openly homosexual broadcaster said it was clear that women had no interest in sex from the fact that they do not go out seeking casual encounters in graveyards or on Hampstead Heath.

He claimed that women only go to bed with men “because sex is the price they are willing to pay for a relationship”. He said: "If women liked sex as much as men, there would be straight cruising areas in the way there are gay cruising areas. Women would go and hang around in churchyards thinking: 'God, I've got to get my f
rocks off', or they'd go to Hampstead Heath and meet strangers to shag behind a bush.

“It doesn't happen. Why? Because the only women you can have sex with like that wish to be paid for it."

He continued: "I feel sorry for straight men. The only reason women will have sex with them is that sex is the price they are willing to pay for a relationship with a man, which is what they want.

“Of course, a lot of women will deny this and say, 'Oh no, but I love sex, I love it!' But do they go around having it the way that gay men do?"

Hmm. Has Fry got a point, or is he just trolling?

So some ****ing paper misquotes a humorous interview I gave, which itself misquoted me and now I'm the Antichrist. I give up.

    Or so says Stephen Fry
    the well known satirist?

"women don't enjoy sex" says a gay man according to the press who like to pick up on every second word and run with it like it was the gods truth.

So just because women don't act like gay men they don't like sex?
    Logic fail from Fry.

More to do with the behaviour of certain gay men than straight women tbh. If that's what he is getting at he is 100% correct.

There aren't "straight cruising areas" like Hampstead Heath, etc because the whole world is a straight cruising area. I've been hit on in just about every area of my life and when I was single if I was interested in a man I would let him know my interest no matter where we were.

The reason that specific cruising areas for gay men came about is because it can be dangerous for a man to hit on another man if he isn't sure of his sexuality. In the past it was illegal and even now some people are so bigoted/homophobic that they treat a show of interest from someone of the same sex as a slur rather than a compliment.

Though I assume someone as obviously intelligent as Fry knows this and was making a joke which is being misrepresented.

Obviosly I am no expert, being a male n all but I would imagine its a lot to do with women of course like sex as much as men but women have a much more emotional attachment to sex and so the thoughts of quickies with random men would not appeal to the majority of women. The average single bloke would take it whilst they can and have no wish to consider the consequences.

Not all women are like that of course, the same as not all men like one night stands. But as a general rule of thumb I would say its not a bad one.

I work under the assumption that whatever I think about women is wrong. It saves me being told. :(

i think thats a reasonable conclusion when you consider

If I was a celebrity I'd tape all my interviews and then release the tapes publicly if I felt I was misquoted.

See how some ****ing journalist likes trolling and leading questions being put out in the public domain to make them look like a heel.

N.B. Working under the assumption that S. Fry was genuinely misquoted.

I have a few thoughts on this:

    1. Stephen Fry must be **** in the sack.

    2. Gay men, Straight men and women all tend to have different mindsets.

    3. I've herd many a time 'In a relationship man needs sex to feel loved, a Woman needs to feel loved to have sex.'

4.Stephen Fry must be **** in the sack.

Usually a clear case of quality dictating quantity... :p

Yeah, as much as Fry may find women an alien species this does not seem at all like anything he would actually say with intent. He's a comedian and a very intelligent one at that, but everyone messes up. He's only human and happened to say something without thinking it through.

I'd imagine once he comes out of his swing he'll clear it up. It would be very odd for him to actually mean something like that.

Meh, who cares what he thinks? He's gay, what does he know about sex with women? It's like Hugh Hefner saying all gay men like to eat da poo poo.

Edit: And what's this obsession with Stephen Fry anyway? Ok, he's funny enough but he's not some sort of god or anything. I really hate this fúcking celebrity culture, it's drives me mental sometimes.

I agree but tbh i would have a great imagination so would happily accept qty any day...

plus it does our ego wonders to refuse too much

I laughed out loud when i read that in the guardian.

Hes a comedian, youre not ment to take it seriously ted. they might as well say 'Fry listens in on bar conversation, accuses an englishman, an irishman and a scotsman'

Like people have said already, he was joking.

....but if he wasn't, then we'd have no choice but to agree and accept his word.

Stephen Fry > All of us.

Women respond to sex in different ways and definitely have different priorities.,

He has a point but only in the way that I think women enjoy sex more if there is an emotional attachment involved whereas men seem to find it easier to seperate love and sex. But this is obviously a very general statement.

Thank god women don't behave like gay men. Every bar in the land would just be a dark room.

Women don't go in search of casual sex near where they live because they don't want to be stigmatised as "easy" or "slutty" because of the unfortunate, well, stigmatisation that exists in our society. They don't want to get a bad reputation in their social circle. However when they head off to Ibiza or Magaluff they shag themselves silly and that's just fine by me, bless their little hearts. They can go off on an anonymous two-week booze and shag bender and nobody can tell me they are in search of a relationship.

Don't think you can generalize so much

Would dogging not be the equivalent to what Fry was talking about

There is a real cult of personality around him that I don't understand either. He was a lot funnier 20 yrs ago than he is now.
