I have been to a few concerts but the best was Michael Buble - three weeks ago at the Aviva. It was spectacular. Michael Buble was very impressive. Love his music and seeing him live was unreal. He had me singing, dancing, laughing and crying. Sex on legs he is too. I love him. Heres hoping he comes back again very soon.

Gary Barlow's last solo gig at a less than half full Wembley Arena back in December 1999.

It must have been a very hard gig for him to do with all the negativity that surrounded him at the time, would have been very easy for him to have cancelled, still he had the last laugh in the end, like I always knew he would :)

Just relised my first gig was NOT The Housemartins at the SFX, that was a few months later.

It was either Metallica in the Top Hat in Dun Laoghaire or ..

Ozzy Osbourne in McGonagles on Sth Anne St, the night before he then played the Top Hat also.

I can't remember the dates though.

Ozzy Top Hat was 1988 man & Mc Gonagles was the 11th & 12th January 1991

AC/DC - November 1980 @ Rosemont Horizon outside of Chicago Illinois.

    So jealous

My first was RHCP in Landsdown Rd, 2000 or 2001, cant remember. Pretty good gig. Support was New Order, which was a little random.

The Smashing Pumpkins (Mellon Collie tour) in the Point in May 1996 when Bernadette O'Brien was killed in the crush. They only played 11 songs before it was cancelled but it was amazing for those 11 songs.

Saw them for the 4th time last week in Melbourne. Really wasn't expecting much but they weren't bad. Nothing will top that first one though.

    AC/DC @ the R.D.S. October 22nd, 1982.

I think I mentioned that particular gig on a thread about the worst gigs you've ever been to. Absolute tripe. Red Lemon, The Walls, New Order: All shíte then the Chilli's played 40 mins of mostly pre Mothers Milk stuff that only the real hardcore fans knew. Worst gig ever.

Don't be embarrassed, that was a class gig.

Was it the one at The Point?

Thought that was '90 or '91.

We blagged some tickets to it from MCD at the time by saying that our tickets were now on a plane to New York in a family members jacket, they stuck us on the guestlist.

There were four of us, right up front.

She was barefoot throughout and stood on rug.

Between songs we kept shouting 'show us your tits' and she was laughing :D

She said something to us into the mic, but we were so drunk, none of us remembers what though.

U2, the Zoo TV tour back in '92. The opening acts were The Sugarcubes (Bjork's band before she became famous) and Public Enemy. I was 12, it was awesome.

Oasis at the point i'm not sure of the year (93/94 at a guess) but it was their first time to play, absolutely magic! Plus 2 mates bailed so we sold their tickets for 250 pounds, which was a huge amount of money to us back then, basiacally covered the tickets and beer + food for the whole day.:D

The old point was a great venue, seen some class gigs there, the ones that stand out are oasis, aerosmith and the counting crows, still haven't been to the new one yet!

    Belinda Carlisle 1989.
So…. not only has my teenage obsession with chiseled cheeked red heads with electric blue eyes left me with a deeply embarrassing dent in the credibility of my musical taste, it's also managed to leave me feeling really.. really old.. :(

Eh, yum! My god that woman was beautiful!!
Belinda and Carol Decker (tpau) were very nearly the cause of me going blind back in my school days.
In my defence they both had a couple of (semi) decent songs too.

Guns 'n' Roses in Slane in 1992. I was only 12 or 13 and had to BEG to be allowed to go. Finally pursuaded my older brother to 'bring' me - he thanked me for it after the gig. Hot scorcher of a day and the band were delayed coming on but when they did - wow. Fantastic introduction to the world of live music.

I wholeheartedly agree. Unfortunately I'm still waiting for Belinda to cross my path but I met Carol Decker at the Milk Music Awards (now the IRMAS) in the National Concert Hall in either 1986 or 87 and am still of the opinion that she has the best legs I've ever seen. They seemed to go on for miles :D

Dad brought me to the Kinks when I was about 10 or 12, can't remember. But it was loud, and awesome.

    Must have been around 1995.

Kylie Minogue back in 1990. I was 6. My mother brought me and my older sister along. She even knit us cardigans with Kylie emblazoned on the back of them. Oh the shame

Aww, I thought New Order and RHCP were pretty good! Not the best gig, but pretty decent.

First gig was Refused in the 13th Floor, I think 1997, not sure on the date tho. Used go to a lot of those Blast gigs too :)

Metallica in 1999. Awesome gig. And Jason Newsted gave me one of his plectrums. He was the nicest guy in that band. The rest were cunts. Still, played some great songs.
