I didn't read through the thread, but is it true that KOL delayed the photoshoot of the album cover due to one of them having gotten fat?

Matt (lead guitarist) is always struggling with weight so i wouldn't be surprised

Try telling me that any song off their new album has a scratch on this!

I still haven't given up on the new album - I've listened to it three or four times now and the only one so far thats jumping out at me is 'pick up truck'. I'll give it a few more listens and get back to yous.

Always thought Trani was a very overrated song myself, quite boring and goes nowhere. New album is very poor though, all screechy sounds and little substance. I said it earlier in the thread but I almost can't get over how terrible 'Mary' is, a complete mess of a song.

trani is arguably their best song. And in my opinion one of the best songs I've ever heard In My 25 years on this earth. Great song

I agree with the Trani statements! But after a few listens of the new album......i REALLY like it! Favourites at the moment are Pony Up, Mi Amigo, Pickup Truck, Back Down South, The End! They're all good though! At first I was disappointed but after listening to it goin to work and stuff it grew on me! This is probably strange but putting it on shuffle helped I think!

So is there any point in getting the new album ? I loved the first two albums, blew me away but after that it has been a gradual/steady decline for me with a couple of decent songs but with a hell of a lot of absolute muck, Sex on Fire just makes me cringe and this latest single is not far off that.

So has anyone that really enjoyed first two albums listened to and enjoyed the new one or are KOL just producing much of the same, I think I already know the answer.

if you didn't like the last one..im guessing the new one isn't for u, but you can listen to it on their website... i agree needs a few listens on shuffle, like the end and back down south..

It creeps up on you after a few listens but nowhere near the first two albums obviously. It's arguably their best album since but they're at the stage of their career where they will be slagged regardless by the indie kids. Definitely worth a purchase if you were a fan of the previous stuff. Some really good tunes on it.

Indie kids? seriously is that what it's come to?

They are at the stage of their career where they could be putting out better music but instead are putting out utterly soulless albums like this.

kol are a brilliant band, esp the singing.. I've loved from the start too and will say they did become more mainstream but **** it. Just be grateful to listen to their music. They're not performing monkeys! The last 3 songs on new album are wicked

Im a fan of the Kings since YAYM and I must say i love Come Around Sundown. This album has really grown on me. The End, Pyro, Pickup Truck, No Money...all great tunes.

I think its better than Because of the Times, a real grower of an album.

It's not as bad as people made out, like the above poster mentioned it's a grower, they'll probably never emulate how awesome the first two albums were, but they're probably trying to move away from that sound anyways.

New album is just another Only By The Night. As in, it's a carefully crafted commercial pile of tripe. It's really sad, especially when you listen to Youth And Young Manhood.

    Kings Of Leon: They're a great band...ruined.
