I was up on the front line standing right in front of Peter. Awesome!

Can't remember my first gig, so long ago back in the early 90's and all a blur now, among the first though were:

    Type O Neg.
    Sepultura/Paradise Lost.
    Nirvana.
    Pearl Jam.
    Metallica.
    Stone Temple Pilots.
    Lucky bastard.

My very first gig was to go see Wet Wet Wet in the national stadium. It was early 1987. My mum won 2 tickets on the RTE 2 radio show Poparama and she let me go and bring a friend.

Bon Jovi, Landsdowne Road 2001. Remember being just overawed with the enormous stage and the stadium and the lights and everything. Was class. Total gig junkie now!

Just relised my first gig was NOT The Housemartins at the SFX, that was a few months later.

It was either Metallica in the Top Hat in Dun Laoghaire or ..

Ozzy Osbourne in McGonagles on Sth Anne St, the night before he then played the Top Hat also.

I can't remember the dates though.

Aged 12 at an event called 'Get Fresh 90' at the Point in (yes) 1990. My brother (13) won 2 tickets off the radio by answering a question about Beverly Craven  The lineup was The Soupdragons, Adamski, James and others I've forgotten.

What was your first live gig you went to ? Mine was the inspiral carpets in the sfx..

Lark in the Park with the hothouse flowers, No Sweat and uh. Joe Elliott came out as well.

First actual gig was Red hot Chili peppers in the SFX, supported by Henry Rollins. I didn't know what RHCP looked like and assumed when a muscular angry man covered in tattoos came out, it must be them.

    It wasn't.

If I'd known back then that it wasn't so much my only chance to see RHCP as one in a long list of going to gigs to see their support and then leaving before they came on. :-(

The Blizzards at Electric Avenue in Wateford, 2008. Not proud of it now..
Met the band at another gig in there a few months later. Band was generally nice. Niall Breslen was a bit of an arse.

I was at that gig, ended up behind the stage because it was the only place I had a decent view. The management lost my autograph book, I got 6 vinyl albums as compensation, including Strangeways Here We Come and The World Wont Listen by the Smiths. That moment changed my life

Incidentally the gig was rubbish and the autograph book was brand new :pac:

Mine's was Radiohead at Malahide Castle.
Favourite band for ages and was only 3 rows back.
    Still wasn't hugely impressed.
