Is the old system gone where you just beat up the guy, have your finisher stored, and then use it when you like. I seem to recall they revamped it a few years back and I've avoided it since.

    It is.. In a sense..

With the push for online gaming, that system you mentioned doesn't really work very well so as far as I can remember they had it last year that you would work down a section of the body until your opponent was groggy/knocked out enough that you could pull out a finisher. But even at that you could literally do as many as you wanted unless the opponent regained health (with the stamina system turned on).

I could be completely wrong and think it could've been two years ago, but either way I hated the way you were on about above.

No last year's finishing system was that you built up momentum by beating on your opponent, taunting, etc until you build up to your signature move. Now you only have use of your signature move for a limited time until your momentum meter goes back down. You can use your signature move (which fills the momentum meter and gives you a finisher move) or just build up your momentum until you have a finisher. In the same way, you nly have the finisher for a limited amount of time until the momentum meter goes down again.

Wow, I think you're talking 12 years ago with that one dude, like.. back ti WWF Attitude for the Playstation / N64. That was the last time you could do infinite finishers as long as the opponent's health was at red.
Thinking back, that game was probably the most violent of all the WWF/E games. I remember you could beat people to a pulp and their whole bodies / faces would be completely covered in huge gashes and buckets of blood. You could even do it to the "divas" ( not that they were called that back then ), China, Ivory, Jackie & Sable etc...

Nice one, love the camera for the backstage stuff.
I remember for WM XVIII for the Gamecube you could unlock this cool camera for matches where the camera stayed on the wrestler you were controlling and followed them around... You could do cool things like run up to the top of the ramp while in a triple threat match and watch the other 2 fight it out in the ring in the distance from your wrestler's view. Looked class. Also you could loose sight of your opponent if you were down and they were out of the ring grabbing a weapon or something... and you wouldnt know which side they were gona come back in from.

Would be cool if they brought that back in

Just a bit of an update for anyone who's considering ordering the game online. Over on the Fifa 11 Forum here on boards.ie, people are discussing if any stores will release the game tonight, as it officially goes on sale tommorrow and some people are saying that anyone who ordered the game from Play.com, got it yesterday or today.

So i wonder if it will work the same for SvR 2011 by getting it a day or 2 before the release?? Might just go and order the Lord of Darkness Edition off Play now myself ;)

Oh so you mean all those jerky/unrealistic/over the top selling that your opponent does was actually motion captured by a real person?

Thats even worse than thinking it was just randomly animated.
    Lame.

And "Vs. Undertaker" where you can play as John Morrison, R-Truth, Dolph Ziggler, Kofi Kingston or your CAW to try and end the famous steak at WM.
Each RTWM story is apparently gonna take around 5-8 hours to complete a there is multiple paths for each story which sounds pretty cool. Give a bit more re-play value too. Along with WWE Universe, revamped Story Designer and the Match Creation option, I can't see this game losing it's value until SvR 2012 comes out ;)

The ability to Cash the MITB in the WWE Universe is a nice touch

Not at all, I'm still playing SvR 2010 so i wouldnt think i'll be done in 2 weeks, not with the possibility of up to 40 hours on RTWM alone and the WWE Universe mode :D

I'll be getting this for release day on PSP. I hope it creates as much of a buzz as Smackdown vs. Raw 2006 did in terms of improvements and gameplay

    Source:

The following is an excerpt from an ESPN.com interview with Bryan Williams, designer of the new "WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2011" video game, where he speaks on Daniel Bryan being excluded from the roster of the game:

Jon Robinson: The game's roster has been announced and the Nexus members aren't in the game, but will be offered later on as downloadable content. Why aren't they included on the disc? Did they debut too late?

Bryan Williams: The whole thing with Nexus is that when we saw season one of NXT, we didn't have the ability to put in the entire roster and the guys we could get, they debuted so late that they had to be downloadable content. But we first had to decide who the top guys were so we could include them. So working with the WWE, we figured the top three guys were Wade Barrett, David Otunga, and Daniel Bryan. Daniel Bryan was originally going to be a part of the NXT season one package that we were going to offer online. What's funny is, the day that we mo-capped all of his moves, I was hanging out with the mo-cap guys in the hotel and when I check my phone, I find out that Daniel Bryan was released. I tell the guys, and nobody believed me. But then when we found out that the release was legit, we ended up having to take him out of the game and we replaced him with Justin Gabriel. The Gabriel character is going to be great, though, as he's got some really cool moves. He's a really entertaining wrestler and he's got a good move set. I like strikers and he kicks a lot. So we don't have Daniel Bryan, but we do have Justin Gabriel.

Jon Robinson: But now that Daniel Bryan has been rehired and you already motion-captured his moves, wouldn't it be easy to just add him to the download pack?

Bryan Williams: No, because everything at that point was what we were going to do. The creation hadn't started yet. We were getting the motions ready for the models, but no work had been done on his model at that time. So once we found out about his release and we swapped in Justin Gabriel, then we started creating the models. We have been seeing if it's feasible to include him in some DLC down the line, but if it doesn't work out for this year's title, he'll definitely be in next year's version.

Jon Robinson: Unless he gets released again.

Bryan Williams: [laughs] I was bummed out that we didn't get him in the game because I'm a big fan of his. I was so gassed up to know that he was going to be in the game.

    Thats bushlit!

    This is what he means:
We could put Daniel Bryan in the Nexus pack but we know we'll get even more money if he is his own DLC further down the line going by his popularity.

What are you on about? THQ cant just make new characters at the click of a finger. They were planning on having him in but went with Justin Gabriel instead. And as the cut off point to what they use in the game is usually around Wrestlemania, and Bryan didn't come til Summerslam (which was only 2 months ago) they prob didnt have time to create his model in time. And i'm sure if they did release him as DLC, there would be other things along with it. So just chill out man.

Hate to burst your bubble CMpunked but Daniel Bryan will NOT be available as a DLC, so they are not planning on screwing anyone over for extra money.

I just hope there will be a good CAW of him going around to download shortly after the game comes out!

    Its an absolute clusterduck.

    I hate it online.

Everyone using modded wrestlers, everymove changed to a high damage move. Finishers every 3 seconds.

Grinds my gears just thinking about it.

Not to mention the lack of Irish players. Even when I played D2D online there was some bad lag.

Maybe we should set up an Irish only online league for members on this board here?
