Anyone know when we find out what labs we're in / when our tutorials are?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,761 ✭✭✭Lawliet

I appear to have either lost that slip of paper with my username and password, or just left it in my house in Dublin...
Are the current timetable much different from the ones in the yellow book?

Yes, you will find out what your lab times and tutorials are at when you find out, until then you didn't find out, you'll find out.

The mentors on Wednesday said that they usually change it and we'd only see the proper timetable when we got registered?

Hi , I'm trying to set up my blackboard on webct ,

In the first semester the modules i'm doing are :
Physical Chemistry CH1101 On blackboard I have registered for CH1101 and CH1006 for this module. Is this correct?

Geography physical GG1021 I can't find anything on the webct list to register for this module?

Maths Methods MA1MO1 I can't find anything on the webct list to register for this module either ?

    Thanks.

Yeah doing Physics, I posted too early :P Friday is a mystery now since I notice the timetable didn't mention anything about chemistry labs. So still might be a long day.

It'll be in it's complete form on Tuesday when they fill in your tutorials and labs. In general because it's so large science as a timetable doesn't seem to change each year.

Not too sure about geography a friend of mine did mention there was no course notes online when he did that module last year. Regarding Maths Methods the lecturers put up notes on the maths departments own servers, you'll be given the specific urls when you start lectures.

This seems to be the case alright. Here's the general overview. For maths methods you'll have Dr. Rupert Levene (course webpage is here) and Dr. Sinéad Ryan (course webpage is here). Those webpages may not be entirely updated from last year but the content will hardly have changed much, and they'll be useful to have as bookmarks anyway.

Oh yay! :D I was beginning to worry. Everyone I talked to had Medicine as their first choice so they're doing something med based.

Upstairs, it's got Joly on the doors and a sign with a 4 between the two doors.

I usually just cross the road next to the sports centre, dunno if there's another handy way. I had one class in 1008, look for it before you're there because it's not called 1008 by anyone other than the timetable. As far as I remember it's on the ground level of the Arts block, if you go in the door nearest Front square it's way over on the left. I have a sneaking feeling it was actually downstairs but you'll still have to go in that direction even if it is downstairs. :pac:

Will we have a lab in the first week? Is it once a week then after that?

Ooh if that was the room we had a maths methods lecture in once a week then AAAAARRRRRGGGHH. Finding that room annoyed me so much that I actually never went to that lecture again. Also it was early and I thought sleeping was more fun.
It's down the stairs past the cafe in the arts block. Keep going past the couches and there's a slightly creepy/dank stairwell that leads down to it. If you can't find it, just follow the musty smell until you hit a wall of even mustier smell. That's it.
Or the room you're talking about could be a completely different room and I just got so angry that I was blind to it. Have fun!

Think that's the one, it was way, way too big for the size of the Maths Methods class, was pretty hilarious. :pac: I only went to it once myself I think, moved to Maths not long afterwards, wasn't getting up at 6am to do 5th year maths. :pac:
