it only a dog well if it happens to somethin you love or someone? ill be the first to personally say i dont have any sympathy for u all those little wastes of air and space should be rounded up and executed slowly nothing animal or human deserves that to be done to them and if nothin is done the next target for them will be a child in finglas as this is the only [lace it seems to be happening the parents seem not to be able to teach any sort of humanity to their kids but wat am i saying most of them were and still are kids themselves it a **** hole and should be walled in until they all die off and make dublin a better place for normal people !

It won't ever happen to a pet of mine, that's for sure. I don't have any pets and never will. The only animals I have any time for are those that appear on my plate.

I'm just not a lover of animals. Sorry.

Go talk to them then, no point in you discussing a topic on dogs if you have no interest in their well being is there?

Oh wait, it's your opinion and your choice if you troll, I mean post here

As to the people who say it's only a dog: yeah it's only a dog but there's been studies down the years to show that people who will hurt animals are invariably the ones who go on to hurting people later on in life. It doesn't stop there. A light doesn't suddenly go off in these scumbags heads one day to tell them "right I must draw the line here and start thinking and acting like an evolved human being now".

Heard about this on the radio earlier.. made me feel sick to the stomach when they described how bad a state the dog was in when it was found. I can't abide cruelty to animals.. hope whoever is responsible gets what's coming to them

Regards to the 2 insistance of animal cruelty posted in this thread about Finglas and people saying some people know who they are and wont say anything.

I remember a story in england where youths kept throwing a cat over a balcany in a block of flats and they made a video of it on their phone and posted it online and in the end they were ran out of the flats and them and their familys had to move for their own safety if only the people of finglas were the same.

Jail time and/or public humiliation for parents and children. when they find out who it was had down lengthy sentences. post signs about town detailing what was done, in every tesco/dunnes/etc. So that everyone they know realizes what low lives they are. Its a sorry situation but gossip can't be stopped. The only way to make some people bring their children up right is to give them an incentive not to let them run wild.

To inflict such suffering on a little dog like that is beyond words. These scum don't even deserve to be classifeid as Human. It would be nice to put a large firework in their mouths, just to let them see what it feels like. I certainly wouldn't be putting them out of their misery, the sick, twisted, evil 8astards.

I know you're already after getting a rap on the knuckles but seriously wtf?
It's a defenceless animal. It was targetted by a group of sadistic little runts for entertainment.
Personally I think that anyone who targets an animal or a person like that should be shot. It's absolutely sick.

And if they are putting a firework/ banger in a dogs mouth now what will they be doing in five/ ten/ twenty years time????

I couldn't give a fcuk what their background is or what their upbringing was like. Plenty of other people were born & raised in Finglas, & worse places, but they have managed to become normal members of society & have bettered themselves against the stereotype that comes from being associated with that area.

You don't have to be an animal lover to feel disgusted by it.

Thing is they won't. There was a whole gang ffs. Even if one go caught, they will only get a slap on the wrist.

I think anyone who did this to a dog, should get jailed for 10 years. No sob stories.

Sick f&cks. total filth is all they are. I hope the little bastards are dumb enough to boast about it on Bebo and get caught.

Seriously, that is some sick ****. Hope the little fúckers get what they deserve.

I couldn't give a ****e if they blew themselves apart but when a completely defenceless animal is targeted by such a load of scum it makes blood boil.

    Scum of the earth!!

what would be good is a reward site ,and you could donate to it .

    ie -
a grand to whoever drops the hands of whoever did this outside the nearest rspca to finglas in a tesco bag.

some issues need to be ironed out , but I think it could work .

Only one solution, get any decent people who are left in Finglas out, secretly of course so the scum don't cop on, and then use a mini nuke on the place.

    Job done.

I'd love to remove the jaws of each one of these scum bags slowly with an angle grinder, and let them choke on their own blood.

I disagree, everytime I turn on the news, the problem seems to be originating in Finglas. Body found, probably in a field in Finglas. Last time I heard of a dog having a banger put in his mouth, Finglas, happens this year, Finglas, every second drugs swoop seems to be in Finglas. Clearly there's a problem with Finglas and many of the prople who live there and their ability to bring up kids in a proper manner. Nothing to do with class snobbery at all...

its finglas , what do u expect

I actually stopped tagging after the second page. Before anything I am disgusted at what happened and think when found they should tie the little animals to a chair and put a firework in their mouth and see how they like it....most likely they will ask to be put down but no I think that would be too good for them.

Do you know how many people live in Finglas? Or how big an area it is? Like all area's there is a pocket few scumbags but we are not all like that. My mam's whole family are born and bred here, I have 5 uncles & 1 aunt (plus their wives/husband) and over 20 cousins and not one of us have ever been in any trouble or taken part in any sort of anti-social behaviour...don't get me wrong we are not angels all the time. My the majority of my close friends are from Finglas and again not scumbags!

As for the comment of how everytime you hear on the news of dead bodies or shootings I agree it does always say Finglas which is reported INCORRECTLY! This is a point I have brought up with the media as it really pisses me off and yes my manners are gone on this one. As someone who works with some of the youth in my community and someone who has met snobbery over where I am from in work (when I worked in banks) and now still in college (I attend Trinity at present) it really riles me that they don't report correctly when something bad happens!
Oh but when something good does amazingly the exact place is The Ward, St Margarets or Violet Hill, Glasnevin or Ashtown, Castleknock!!!

For instance, the shooting back in July (16th I think) was reported as Finglas when infact it is officially Castleknock or most people would have known it as Cabra until the developers successfully in courth proved it was Castleknock...check Ashtown. Before that there was a body found as reportes as "The Ward, near Finglas" emmm that is the same as saying "Holles Street near Shrewsbury road" would that continue to be reported?? Don't think so but it is the same distance.

So before you all go slatting my area I would ask to consider how many people actually live here and how many are actually causing the trouble!

It's not really. I grew up nearby on the edge of Glasnevin and went to secondary school in Finglas for 5 years. The day I finished my leaving cert and got out of there was one of the best of my life. I was only so glad to get out of there and not have to spend another day with such scum.

I'll still not go Finglas west under any circumstance day or night. Bandit country and if I was a betting man I'd wager the dog incident happened in there somewhere.

Edge of Glasnevin? So basically you are from Finglas! Get over yourself. Where did you go to school even that it was so bad? Sad for you that leaving school was the best day because I went to primary (St. Joesph's GNS) and then secondary (St Michael's Holy Faith) both in Finglas and never had a bother in either infact probably the best days of my life.
I haven't heard where the attack happened as yet only what I have read online but I am from the so called 'Bandit Area' up on Mellowes. Have you even ever been up here? Live here all my life and never had trouble. Even if I won the Euro Millions on Friday I would still want to live here! As another poster said, even thought it was mocking, I live in a great community, as well as having family around I have great neighbours who would do anything to help you. Why would I want to move?

Bit of life advice for you....it doesn't matter where you are brought up but how you are brought up!

I wouldn't want to live there again and I spent years in Finglas. Problem is a combination of the council moving scum families from other areas in and the lack of policing of the scum that grew up there. Nothing will change and has not for the last 30 years.

Indo has the story today, it happened on the Cardiffsbridge Road area. Graphic horrible pictures as well.

That is so ****ing cruel  I don't know how a human being could do this. I;d love to stick a firework in their mouth and see how they like it!:mad::mad:

Down at home kids used to spray silly string at dogs and set them on fire, throw petrol on them and do the same and the worst is that they also tied poor little doggies to the train tracks.:(:(:(

It's horriffic to think about. How could an animal that gives nothing but unconditional love and affection be treated like that. It's murder, people that do this should be jailed for life.

Seeing that I've never really had pets, stories like these don't seem to hit me very hard. But I saw the picture in today's Independent and read that it had to be put down shortly after.

Jesus! What complete and utter b*stards!

What has the fact the scummers are from Finglas got to do with anything? Finglas didnt make them do it?!?!

Its easy to sit on the sideline and say shame on the people who dont report them, and to a certain extent, you'd be right. HOwever I dont believe its quite as clear cut as that. People fear reprisal and wont report crime. Unless people get together as a collective and support one another then that wont change. Thats what the neighbourhood watch schemes try to do, its worked in some areas and not others.

as for the punters who think that crimes against hu-mans are where we should be focussing our energies, its been shown that animal abuse plays a big part in an individual moving on to people abuse. or whatever the terminolgy is.

The helpless a creature is to defend itself the sicker the act imo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,673 ✭✭✭AudreyHepburn

I was absolutly disgusted when I read this. The paper also had a picture of the poor creature, it was the most horrific thing I've ever seen :(!

I don't understand the mentality of people who do this kind of thing. What possible fun could there be in mutilating and killing defensless creatures like that poor dog.

People who do this deserve to be locked up

    Characteristics

Serial killers in the United States tend to share the following general characteristics, but this is not always the case:[8]
The majority are single, white males. However, there are scores of recorded cases of non-Caucasian serial killers, such as Carl Eugene Watts, Wayne Williams, Timothy Spencer, Charles Ng, Angel Maturino Reséndiz and Richard Ramirez.[9]
They are often intelligent, with IQs in the "bright normal" range.[10]
Often they have trouble staying employed. Usually they have menial jobs as well.[10]
They tend to come from unstable families.[10]
As children, they are often abandoned by their fathers and raised by domineering mothers.[10]
Their families often have criminal, psychiatric and alcoholic histories.[10]
They were often abused — emotionally, physically and/or sexually — by a family member.[10]
They have high rates of suicide attempts.[10]
From an early age, many are intensely interested in voyeurism, fetishism, and sadomasochistic pornography.[10]
More than 60 percent wet their beds beyond the age of 12.[10]
Many are fascinated with fire starting.[10]
They are involved in sadistic activity or torturing animals.[10]

+1. It's notably a character trait in the graphic novel From Hell (about Jack The Ripper) and in the remake of Halloween. Where Michael starts on killing animals.

Just two popular references that're off the top of my head.

The little shiits have been getting bolder and bolder with thier banger related nonsense the last week or so.
Starting off just throwing bangers around and graduating up to throwing them into shops and at busues etc.

The ringleaders are a couple of scrotes from Dunsink halting site who have been hanging round the shops and green at cardifsbridge lately.

The travellers are the ones supplying the local scumbags with fireworks..same as every year.

I feel sick after reading that. The little bastards who do this will probably get away with this and who knows what they'll end up doing.

The dog was in a horrible state, I wish it had been killed instantly instead of suffering like it did until it was put to sleep.

I can only imagine what the owner is going through - it's one of those things you fear if you have a pet, what some sadistic little ****er could do to it.

On a side note, we need some decent animal welfare legislation in this country - the current laws date from 1911 FFS. I know the law wouldn't have made a difference to this poor dog, but it's needed anyway.
