No 1 terrorist state at it again sick fcks.

    news
New documents released by the US Army paint a disturbing picture of depravity, deceit and savage internal discipline involving at least 12 Stryker soldiers from Washington during their recent deployment to Afghanistan.

The soldiers, all from the same company in the 5th Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, are charged with a total of 76 crimes, including the premeditated murders of three Afghan civilians and the beating of one or more fellow soldiers.

One soldier is alleged to have stabbed a corpse last December.

Three soldiers face charges of wrongfully taking and/or possessing photographs of dead bodies.

The highest-ranking member of the group, Staff Sergeant Calvin R. Gibbs, is accused of showing fingers from a corpse to a soldier in an attempt to keep him from talking to Army investigators about his and other soldiers' alleged use of drugs.

On May 5, just a few days after the last murder, seven of the defendants allegedly went after at least one fellow soldier, apparently to keep him quiet.

The soldiers allegedly beat up their comrade, hitting, kicking, strangling, dragging and spitting on him.

Morlock and Gibbs are the only soldiers charged in all three murders, which occurred separately in January, February and May.
The Afghan men were killed with grenades, shot, or both.

The charge sheets don't shed light on what might have driven the soldiers to kill: whether for revenge, or for sport, or something else.

    Bad things happen during wartime.

You hardly think they were playing tiddlywinks do you?

    Shocking perhaps but hardly surprising.

Yes the 5-10 lads in that represent the American Army. Jaysus we've had enough of these threads already.

You mean the same terrorist state that are now putting the soldiers on trial for their actions?

WTF?? Even if I believed what I just read in that article, it's a bit of a jump to tar an entire army on the acts of 5 nutters, who just happen to part of that army.

IMHO, that was a bit of a cheap-shot, OP.

Cant wait till that stupid ****ty "war" is over. Really getting sick of soldiers getting killed for nothing and then controversial crap like this happening.
Can someone tell me what have they achieved over there, or defeated? Bar themselves.

This kind of behaviour is mostly 'armless although were it to go to a court martial, they wouldn't have a leg to stand on.

The US Army numbers in the couple of 100,000s so with anything that big you'll always get some scumbags particularly in a military environment. When stuff like this happens I actually always feel for the 99.99% of decent soldiers who then get tarred with this brush because of the sick actions of a few! The important thing is that they will be brought to justice for their crimes.

Hold it there, soldier. You're making the rest of us reasonable folks opposed to certain aspects of US foreign policy look like deluded, foaming-at-the-mouth idiots.

So the terrorist state that is putting these soldiers on trial is "at it again"?

    At what again exactly?

Punishing people who committed war crimes? How is that a bad thing?

Thats what happens when you recruit hicks from outside Walmart.

At least the Americans are bringing charges against these scumbags. They not only have murdered Afghans but they have no doubt contributed to the death of other American soldiers. Soldiers that are carrying out their duty with good intent. Naturally some family members of the victims will be radicalised as a direct result of such atrocities and hence more likely to carry out suicide attacks etc. If I was an American soldiers I would demand the heads of these criminals and traitors.

One of the worst cases of military brutality/evil I heard in the last 5 years relates to the American soldiers who broke into a house in Iraq with the intent to rape a 14 year old child. They did so (in front of her father mother and sibling) before shooting her in the head and killing the rest of the faimly. The guy charged with the maximum crime will get parole after 10 years!!! If that happened to someone in my family I would kill as many American soldiers as humanly possible (because I would be driven crazy).

All of this stuff is turning fairly pissed off devout muslims into really pissed off devout muslim insurgents who join the taliban.
The choice is to work for the americans (ok pay) or work for the taliban (better pay), or stay a goat farmer forever.

As you can see, the talibans ranks are swelling these last few years. And these events are recruitment drives for teh taliban.

They were cutting off the fingers of the Afghan combatants to keep as souveniers.

Apparently the figures ran into double digits.

I think its more like 1.3 million in the US armed forces, including Navy, Air force, Army and Reserve.

The British army is about 130,000. The Irish army is about 12,000.

I agree 100% about the scumbags point. You will always get a few when taking the numbers into consideration.

Afghanistan is a harsh enviroment and putting what I would consider immature "gun nut yanks" under pressure like that things like this will happen.

Another point is, its reported that the victims were non combatants which might not be true. Alot of Taliban fighters only pick up their weapons when it suits them and considering the area these guys were stationed and that the victims were men, I'd say its very likely they were Taliban.

Yeah, shame such stuff was visited on Taliban.

They are such nice placid guys, always in full uniform .

Wouldn't dream of doing such things themselves.

    get a grip OP.

I’ve been where you are now and I know just how you feel. It’s entirely natural that there should beat in the breast of every one of you a hope and desire that some day you can use the skill you have acquired here.
Suppress it! You don’t know the horrible aspects of war. I’ve been through two wars and I know. I’ve seen cities and homes in ashes. I’ve seen thousands of men lying on the ground, their dead faces looking up at the skies. I tell you, war is Hell!

    taliban = terroist , american army = ???? ,
its ok if both sides to be equally barbaric ?
and what has wearing a uniform got to do with anything ,

    Plenty.

You are not a conniving terrorist, but up front as to your identity and allegiance.

That's what it has to do.

It would be wrong for anyone to assume that this is an isolated incident. This is one of the few times a yankee murder gang has been outed. Most incidents are covered up.

The taliban are a guerilla army and no guerilla armies wear uniforms. The taliban are a guerilla uniform because they have inferior technology. They don't have fighter bombers that cost $50million. If the yankee cowards stop using their cluster bombs, tanks and gunships and make it a fair fight then the taliban can start wearing uniforms.
