WITHOUT NAMING ANY SPECIFIC TAKE AWAYS

I was with a friend today and he was telling me about some article in a newspaper (I'd link if i knew the paper) that said a woman was eating a take away, bit down on something, thought she lost a filling, spat it into a tissue and went to the dentist the next day, only to be told that no, no fillings were missing, she protested and showed him the specimen in the tissue, dentist rinsed it off, and said, jesus, thats a microchip. So he sent it to his local vet, who scanned it and saw that it belonged to a labrador that went missing a few weeks before.

Apparently, this isn't a rare case, as same friend was eating a take away, bit down on something, spat it out, and showed his mam and they called the manager up to the house. The manager just apologised and said it was a tile chipping from the kitchens in the take away.

To this day he is convinced that it's a human tooth, as it was the same feel, with the same indentations, not smooth like a tile.

Anyone else got any take away stories???

Ja. I once heard of a takeaway near where I live where one of their customers was eating a take away, bit down on something, thought she lost a filling, spat it into a tissue and went to the dentist the next day, only to be told that no, no fillings were missing, she protested and showed him the specimen in the tissue, dentist rinsed it off, and said, jesus, thats a microchip. I've worked in both fish and chip and chinese take aways and this just doesn't happen - they might spit in your food but they'te certainly don't serve little Max

This is precisely why I don't eat from take aways.

Anyway, local urban legend in the North east refers to a mobile chip van that used sit in the middle of a large regional town, it's owner being caught coming out of the local supermarket one day with several trays of cheap canned catfood and a big bag of burger buns. This was well over a decade ago. The place was pretty popular and went out of business oon after, apparently after being closed by health inspectors.

    Little tip:
Never order the number 2 at a Chinese...... It tastes like shit.

FFS when you lose a filling, you know that you have lost a filling!

This is what a microchip looks like:

A microchip is about the size of a grain of rice. It consists of a tiny computer chip housed in a type of glass made to be compatible with living tissue.

Given how cheap factory bred chicken is why would any take away go to the trouble of butchering a dog?

Of course this sort of this happens all the time. Every time I see a chinese closed down I am reliably informed that it was because they got caught using roadkill for meat.

You'd wonder why considering how much easier it would be to buy shíte chicken...

Once, there was this urban myth...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,106 ✭✭✭flyton5

Years ago, just after World Cup 1990, I was out in Brittas Bay enjoying the sun. A great hunger came upon me so I decided to get some food at a chipper van parked nearby. I ordered a fresh cod and chips but when I took a bite from it I was horrified to find it wasn't fresh cod but a battered nappy....when I said I'd report them they just drove off, during which time Colm Meaney threatened assault me with a coke can!!

I heard of a Chinese place that used actual chicken's balls in their chicken balls.

Not possible, chickens don't have balls. Maybe they were using cock balls?
