    Hi TBF,

The best part of the University to ask for an answer to that is Admissions. You can get them on 061-202015. They should be able to explain your position.

    All the best,

    Aoife

    Hi Mulner,

Yes you need to present both of those receipts when you're here next week.

Hi. I enrolled today and brought the bank form to the bank. That seemingly takes a few days to go through. I presume I'm not in any danger of my enrollment being cancelled due to that fact?

Also, where am I supposed to receive my enrollment confirmation email?

    Hi,

Once you haved the stamped receipt from the bank, then that should ensure that you don't have any problem this week. Your confirmation receipt should be sent to the email account that you supplied in the Univeristy.

Thanks for the reply. As far as I'm aware, though, I had not given any email associated with myself to the university. It wasn't a mandatory field while enrolling online so I left it blank. Now I don't know what confirmation I can bring on Thursday?

Ok well can you email on Aoife.Finnerty@ul.ie me with an email address? I'll forward it to Admissions and they can send you on the confirmation.

    Hi Aoife,
I'm currently on Co-Op until January.
Do I pay the full registration fee? I.e. for both semesters?
I assume so, but I want to be sure?

    Hi,

Yes you pay the full reg fee. Also, don't forget to register online during Week 1. You are obliged to even if you are off campus and you will likely be fined if you are late.

    Hi Aoife,

Just wondering if there's any hope of getting my repeat result before Monday?

It seems quite cruel to be left hanging until the morning I'm supposed to start 2nd year, I feel like I can't do much preparation for next year as it's all so uncertain :(

Hi, im posting this on behalf of a friend.

he sat a repeat exam there last week, he was in final year of science ed..
see we have both secured teaching jobs abroad and leave within 10 days..
I think normally results of repeats are the 6th sept...
Is there anyway at all at all he could get his result before this?? he has emailed the college but they said no.... but under these circumstances is there anything he can do.. like he can present the college with proof of the job, the cnotract and out departure date from Ireland

    thanks in advance

    Hi Daisy,

No the official date that the University gives is the date that you can see your results. Results are not just a matter of correction by the lecturer, they have to be approved by Faculty Boards and Grading Committees too, all of which take time. Monday is the first possible day that all of that can be completed.

    Hi Maggie,

I've explained all of this to Daisy in the post above this because you've both asked the same question. No Monday 6th is the first possible date that the University can publish the results, as result are not just a matter of correcting by the lecturer, they have to be passed through different committees (all of which actually happens to protect students rather than inconvenience them). Unfortunately your friend will have to wait for his result until Monday.

    Hey Aoife,

I saw this question posed in another thread and it is something that I was wondering also:
Anybody know when all the Taught MA Thesis results are out, also, are the results posted out to us are do we look them up on student records?

    Thanks in advance.

I for example will be submitting my thesis on Sept 24th, and will be graduating in the Winter conferrings in January.

But when do I discover the results on the thesis? Does it vary by department, or is there a set date?

I'm doing an MBS if that makes a difference.

    Hey Mossin,

According to the Academic Calendar for AY 2010-11 (http://www2.ul.ie/web/WWW/Services/Academic_Calendar) the Winter Exam Board takes place on Thurs 02/12/2010 i.e. the Exam Board that approves all results for graduating students. I would presume that your official results would be available after that. However, I didn't see an official date of release, so it may be down to the supervisor as to when he/she informs the student.

    Hi Aoife,

Is there such things as letters of failure sent out the Friday before the repeat exam results? Just wondering as I had repeats and am currently on co-op and its sort of depending on these results. I didn't receive anything in the post so am hoping I got off okay with the results!

    Thanks :)

    Hi Lulu,

Letters have been sent out to inform students if they've failed and what they have to do. Most have arrived this morning, if that's any use.

    Hi,

You can't continue into second year. You have to repeat the module that you failed from first year again this year i.e. just the link-in.

    Hi,
I am just wondering about registration. in the pre-reg last year I put down one of my electives as IO and global governance. My course director then said this wasnt running and anyone that had it as an option would recieve a letter from SAA. I never recieved the letter and now I am registered for Russian Politics which Iv no interest in :( i was wondering how do I go about changing this. I already confirmed the selections on the student portal :(
    Thanks

    Hey Bob,

You need to go to SAA (outside where they have the forms as opposed to outside where the have the queue!) Get a change of module form from the box, which is to the left of the door, complete it as directed and submit it to SAA. It's also a good idea to get a photocopy of it, just so you have proof that you changed.

    Hey,

Im' guessing that you're in Public Admin. If you're not, let me know because this is based on you being a PA student. FYPs are never on your timetable, but they are in your modules for the semester. FYPs vary from course to course but for PA, your FYP is in both semesters of fourth year. The deadline for submission will be set by your department but in terms of when you should start, that's asap.

    Hey,

    Hey there,

    Your FYP is in both semesters;

HP4117 (FYP 1) is in semester 1 and HP4118 (FYP 2) is in semester 2. Your FYP is 2 modules, so the grades and credits apply in both semesters. Basically HP4117 starts as of this week.

    Hi,

I'm in second year and I'm just wondering do we have to do the 'Enrol for 2010' option in student records? I've already registered my modules.
