How can Boards "not like" anything. We arent a hivemind, we are a community of the general public.

Boards ltd has no view either way on any "personalities".

If Mr Tubridy wants to converse with me about our policies, I'm more than happy to debate with him. It will never happen though... people in ivory towers dont want company I've found and to be fair, most people wouldnt in that situation. RTE had a monopoly on communication to the masses before us and few people like change which demotes their position...

Talking at people is'nt communication though..

Would I be wrong in saying Boards doesn't like Tubbers?

Looks like it from this thread. What was he thinking going on air bashing one of Irelands most visited sites. Why to alienate potential listeners! Having said that I have nothing against him, he probably just means After Hours and he doesn't get that it's a place where ignorance is bliss

    I was thinking about the rules, which is the reason I didn't mention "10 21 7 - 5 1 18 5 4 / 20 23 1 20".

I don't know, parts of boards (like here!) are starting to look like the entire readership of the Daily Mail have taken to posting here. GAYS ARE WEIRD AND EAT CHILDREN! EWWW GROSS TRANSSEXUALS! so on and so forth :/

Not really. The majority of his listening demographics are not likely to overlap with Boards demographics. So for him and others like him before, its an easy and remote target at the moment.

Many worry about Artificial Intelligence. I worry far more about Organic Idiocy.

Jeez could they not find anyone else to fill J Ryans slot? Wasn't this a good opportunity to give a young talent a chance on radio, don't tell me there is no one else in Ireland who could audition for the job (minus the connections, purely on merit) He's not great is he? why did they cut his hours on 2FM previously because people couldn't take 3 hours of him! So depressing, give all the young new talent a chance.
Was he supposed to have turned down some temporay job from the BBC or something, he wouldn't last pi**ing time over there! Thank god for Moncrieff!

Except when the DM does it, you dont get the opportunity to respond directly to the author and show him the error of his ways.

Nor do we get that right with Mr Tubridy, its all one way. Thats why Boards will prosper and "mass media" is on its knees.

lol, no Irish celebrity can deal with boards can they?
if they only came on to defend themselves then people might respect them more

Think that's his problem with Boards to be honest - It's usually not a debate but often a "competition" on who can be more witty or get one over someone else. Why would celebrities be interested in coming on Boards.ie to defend themselves anyway when so many people here are ridiculously opinionated or don't listen? I'd rather do without that hassle if i was them :)

I like Boards but I also like Tubridy, Get's too much of a hard time

I dunno! If Tubridy signed up here now and said right lads, here i am, what's your f**ing problem? it could turn out quite interesting, and many smart arses would vanish!

I can't stomach Tubridy. I don't like his style or personality. But what annoys me most about him is the fact that he heavily relied on connections to get where he is. He often waffles on about "making tea" in RTE and working his way up trying to portray a story of hard graft and success. If he did make tea, he made it as a transition year intern in RTE, ( a position virtually exclusive to those already connected with RTE.)

We all are very aware of Tubridys political connections. We are also aware of the Andrews family deep roots with RTE. Put these two things together and you get somebody like Tubridy as our national TV's figure head.

This was further highlighted when Tubridys cousin , and street idiot, "Dave McSavage" appeared as a guest on the Late Late show in 2005! The guy was just an average street busker at this stage, how many other unknown Grafton street buskers have appeared on the show before or since? Since then, RTE relentelessy pushed the talentless McSavage on to the Irish public. Time and time again, he received a majority poor reception , yet now he has his own show.

Its really sad that excellent Irish talents are being overlooked and will never be given the opportunities afforded to the Andrews clan, and in particular dumb and dumber (Tubridy and mcsavage).ub

Of coruse , people like Tubridy hate boards because it gives the average person a chance to vent on issues like this!

well as a computer/internet user all I can say is it's more likely you'll get an unfavourable response than a favourable one in any aspect. Add a sprinkle of Irish "y'er only a ballix", a twist of begrudery, a smidge of safe behind the keyboard and people will be saying all sorts of things.

Whether or not they're justified is beside the point, I think people let rip alot on here just to vent, while quietly sitting at work/home/college etc.

I don't take anything on here overly seriously, Don't think Mr. T should either.

And lastly, I did meet him once and couldn't fault him on not being nice to us "little people".

I think that Boards should raise funds and buy out TV3, so that we can have Boards TV. The funds needed will be no more than €10.

After the launch, all of the other channels, Sky's included, will be surplus to requirements.

I think the main problem is that we each have to fork out €160 to hear these Divas denounce us

I don't like Tubs on the radio cuz he has all those ****e guests. He's grand on the Late Late though.

Mentioning Boards just makes sure that this site stays in the public eye.

Who wouldn't like Twitter? It plays right into the ego of most people. "Oh look, I have loyal followers that linger on every syllable I can fit into 140 characters".

If this is what facebook does to people, Twitter is what satisfies the God Complex. No surprise, coming from a radio broadcaster that's probably more used to talking to his soap dish in the morning than having to enter an entrenched debate with a group of people, especially when you don't have a producer handy to filter your calls.

I take it poorly that he denigrates a site I have put nearly 11 years of my life into, publically on his state-sporsored radio show. Why tar all 1100 forums with the same brush. Unbiased reporting? Fair?
Will Mr Tubridy allow us a chance to reply? pfffff

I'd happily have a "tête-à-tête" over whatever forum he would like (except twitter, that sucks).
