Why do you need a petition? Seems kind of stupid

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,739 ✭✭✭johnmcdnl

or we could just wait til the morning at 6am and get them from the CAO direct

surely we can wait.... what are you going to do at 2am anyways...

also - scanning a newspaper and putting it online is probably going to be breaking copyright laws - what'd stop you copying the whole paper and posting it up hence no one would buy the paper at all... dunno about that one but anyways - can't see it being fully legal anyways

Why do you care? It's only a few hours which you should be sleeping....or go out that night ;)

I'd be surprised if Irish Times or Irish Independent don't publish it online at midnight, I think they did last year

Or - wait for it - customers who can buy it in a shop!

Just because you own a newsagents or supermarket, it doesn't give you the right to upload the papers you sell on the internet.

It's 1.80 to buy the fecking Indo, surely you can manage it.

Some people need to know if they've got their course as early as possible.

For instance, my first choice and second choice are in completely different places. I've got house viewings organised for early Monday morning, and I need to get the earliest train possible. I may not be able to hang around till 6am to check my offers. So if I leave without knowing, and then don't get my first choice, I'll have wasted a day.

Why are people so dam cranky, i'm looking at it this way , no one is going to get any sleep, tbh. So it would be nice to find out at 2am rather then 6.

What time would they put out the newspapers in Tescos? We have 24 hour one down the road and I'd drive up and get the newspaper if they put it out before 6!!

City centre gets papers earliest. 24 hour petrol stations get them around 3/4 in the morning (I've worked night shifts before), it depends how far you are out from the city.

Last year's points were uploaded on this forum last year at around 3:30 in the morning.

    Be patient.

Doesn't say anything about it on their website, so I can only assume you're making this up.

It's only an article about the CAO offers being out on Monday, and pretty much stating the same thing they said last week about X courses expecting to rise, and Y courses expecting to drop.
It doesn't actually give any figures. It also says they'll print the full points on Monday.

Haha no, I'm not "trolling". I know for a fact that the list of first-round points are in the offices of the Irish Times today, obviously I don't have access to them or else I would have posted them here. Just find it interesting that the points are actually out there at the moment and we can't see them :(

Vincent Browne on Sunday nights? They go through the papers on that to an extent, they'd prob mention the key areas. You would be better off just waiting at the train station at 6 with your phone to check the points if its that big a deal for you....

I don't have internet on my phone, besides I'm not going to drag my poor parents out of bed at 5am to leave me at the train station, only to turn around and say "Oops false alarm, lets head home".
I will wait till 6am if I absolutely have to, it'd just be bloody handy to know a few hours in advance.
