My local shop sells Goldenvale milk at €2.65 for 2L. Had to run home and get some change, much to my embarassment. Don't blame Spar for selling a cheaper alternative to Goldenvale dude. It's pricey everywhere now. Plus, there are those fantastic deals at the SU Spar too!

I would have thought that the SU Accounts would be published for the students of UL seeing as the Union is for them. I'd imagine it's quite a profitable shop considering the amount of deli business it does and that it's common to have a big mark up on deli items.

[btw I'm not knocking anything here; profit is a good thing despite what Labour would have you believe]

I understand your view about the subject and agree totally with it i be leave the shop accounts have to be approved by the class reps so if you want more info on the subject ask your class rep.

Also I think that the SU shop is a separate company from the students union and the class reps are the share holders of the company .

Less than 8 weeks to go until thesis is due to be submitted, and I'm awaiting feedback on a fecking draft questionnaire...I really really am beginning to despise this research!

Over 2 years later, and I'm still in UL, and I feel like having a bitch about something, hence the reason for the thread, its a daily bitch thread, so people can vent about stuff going on.

The thread has been the most popular on this forum. And the reasons I started the thread are irrelevant tbh.

My bitch is about rude and ignorant lecturers and module co-ordinators who don't have the decency to reply to copious amounts of emails.

I know they are on campus, they just aren't replying to their email. It's the height of bad manners. If the situation was reversed I'd imagine there would be consequences if I refused to answer my email.

Aw, I'm kinda dreading coop myself. I'm going to go into them today, I'm repeating an exam in a subject I've already dropped so I suspect that's why they won't help me with my queries.

So unprofessional, what the hell do they think they get paid for?

Yeah my qca is high and I have a savage grinds teacher. There are just some points I would like clarified regarding the exam. I'm so glad that I've dropped the subject, I just can't wait to have the exam over and done with!

Last Friday my supervisor told me she'd contact me about feedback this week, and that we'd have a chat about my questionnaire design.

A week later, and she has been out of office all week, and the only reason I know is that I've received 2 automated responses when I've tried to get feedback and be productive. Whats worse is that she has extended her out of office time. She was supposed to be back on Wednesday, and then when I emailed again, it said she's out until Friday. I mean, ffs, dont tell me that you'll give me feedback this week, when you know that you arent even going to be here!

I cant do my primary research without consent from her, and considering the thesis is due in 6 weeks, I really need to get the questionnaire out!

FYI, I have my bibliography up-to-date, I have my contents done, my list of tables and figures, my cover page, acknowledgements, and approx 10,000 words also.

But without getting consent for my primary research, I can't finish my thesis!

So I'll rant away to my hearts content in a thread designed for such things!!

And this seems like a rant-worthy situation. At least you have the other stuff ready, you can do no more! Doing the bibliography as you go makes life so much easier in the end, trying to find stuff again seems like a waste of time.

This isnt a thread asking for your advice on what I should do, its an outlet for people to vent frustrations about things going on in their day-to-day lives in UL.
Considering that I'm in UL all summer and doing my thesis, while others are on holidays or not thinking of college, I havent had such a luxury, and use this thread to vent, as I know others here do know what I'm going through right now.

I never said I was the 1st person to do a thesis, and I really dont care what other people think. If others are tired of reading my rants, then they can do as I said already and DONT READ IT!

I'm not going to justify myself to you anymore, as you seem to get pleasure from irking people further, and imo are acting as a troll in a thread designed for people to bitch in.

As far as I can see there are loads in UL during the summer. The library has been busy. Lots of others doing a research paper and just getting on with it.

Many even seem to enjoy their topic.

Thats my rant.

Also I wouldnt be to sad to see O'Mahoneys getting smaller. They have been ripping off students in there for years on end with their high prices.

Never an offer or sale in there of any kind.

Another rant there.

I have to agree that they have been overcharging students for a long time, and it came as a massive surprise to me about 3 weeks ago when I saw a sale on in there [Yes I said a sale]. They were offering 25% off all Law Books. I was shocked! :eek:

Have to agree with you about O'Mahoneys and their prices. They're going down to one shop unit instead of two in order to halve their rent so the chances of their prices going down anytime soon is unlikely to say the least.
