Played Woodenbridge yesterday and although didn't play very well the course was in excellent condition, greens were top class.

Anyone know if that 144 won it?

when i was leaving a 141 had come in. I presume that won... Pin positions where a joke....

down for naas jsc this sunday. looking at the online booking it seems to be fourballs... i really hope not, 36 holes in fourballs will be gruesome! anyone else playing?

    143 won it. 71, 72. Sean O'Flaherty from Hermitage.

Thought the pin positions were fair for a Scratch Cup to be honest, greens were class.

Questionable pin on the par 3 4th and the 15th(I think) par 5 which was on a mound back right. Saying that my playing partner eagled it in the 2nd round.

Remember to click on 'Gross scores' at the top of the page,

Woodenbridge and Mount Wolseley. Both overpriced too. Rosslare was €20 for 36 holes, Enniscorthy €20, Baltray €25 (best course I've ever played) to name a few. I'm with Lancelot on €50 being excessive for an 18 hole JS. However, if the golf clubs that charge €50 get the required attendance it is the correct price, as the golf clubs concerned are just trying to survive/prosper.

i agree but still a good comparison to use if you think €50 for Fota is too dear

What's Naas like? Never played it.

Edit, just see it's booked out.

Any know of any other JSCs on this weekend?

its a decent parkland track, not the most challenging but enjoyable all the same. it was booked out on friday but if you refresh the online booking every so often spots come up with people dropping off, etc..

Havnt played Wicklow either but the website makes the course look fantastic!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 96 ✭✭david2002

I have not played it either but I have yet to hear a good report from fellas that have played it. These reports were froma few years ago. I would be interested in feedback from anyone who plays it or has played it recently.

I play here aot and overall, it is a nice course. Yes the back 9 is hilly and there are one or two gimmicky holes but there are also several fantastic holes that will test your golf.

The course is relatively short, but alot of holes will require you to be straight off the tee. The greens are in great condition, i would say up amoungst the top greens of any course in wicklow. The views of the wicklow mountains and coastline are fantasitc and the clubhouse itself is top notch.

For €20, i would definately recommend it.
