That story was horrendously bad - pages 1 and 2 both actually end with the term 'a cheeky smile' :(

Enough of this rubbish. The girl just lost her father. Have some friggin' decency OP and live and let live!
This topic has already been done to its end.

Actually Biggins, I'll take issue with this.

If she's happy to go back out on the publicity trail and taking promotional jobs then it's fair time to be commenting on her again.

So does your post, but you don't have a problem with that.

I can only speak for myself, but I don't think he wrote his post with the intention of having it printed in a national British newspaper.

Well considering I was ending my post with a quote from the article itself, surely the similarity isn't that surprising?

You can't say anything bad about her! after all, her dad was Gerry Ryan!

P.S. I'm looking for a Gerry Ryan commemorative plate, are they making them yet?

Don't get me wrong, I despise backseat mods and self-righteous moral thread arbiters, but that's a bit much.

Have you seen the size of it?

But G. Ryan was alledgedly a 'shock jock'.

    He'd love it.

Poor girl is "blessed" with her fathers looks, god love her. I'm sure she'll have a 6 figure deal with RTE in no time though

    A face for radio..........

I was hoping she'd ****ed off the scene.

It'll be a few guest host segments in holiday or fashion type shows, then an interview on the Late Late where she will then be able to be introduced as a 'broadcaster in her own right....'
Then we will be paying her wages until she dies or we die from watching her.

They must get a real kick out of serving us up this kinda ****e and us paying for it.

...and thats a fair comment - but if some are just out to bash her just because of whom she is/was related too, they are hitting out at her over something she didn't exactly have a say in. Thats all.

Comments on her work/appearance as a single person is always optional in a society able to speak its thoughts, but to comment on her badly just as she part of a now deceased family is just gutter tactics of a lowest form.
(Which was part why I think the other thread was locked)

Holy shit, this is actually what is going to happen.

In relation to her, I'd rather that people who deserved and had a real interest in something got jobs from working hard.
Maybe it is a bit of jealousy, that she can walk into jobs because of her name, while others who are far more talented don't get any breaks at all.

But maybe if they weren't leaning towards nepotism in RTE, we might actually have some really good shows from people with fresh thinking.
Any muppet can look at what's coming from the US and Britain and then transform them into similar RTE shows, except much, much worse.

That RTE version of The Hills being a perfect example.

Thrusting someone into the public eye is exactly what helps that sort of thing...

    Good call.
Add someone related to the Larry Murphy case and you almost have the first show.

Her father having been a smug arsehole is not the point. It's her poping up and most likely going to be living off the fact that she is his daughter and at our expense, which is the issue, regardless of any 'talent' she may or may not have. How nice or whaterver she may be and the fact her father died is neither here nor there.
I'm sure any job she gets will have been well advertised on the Fas website:rolleyes:

Looks like we will never be free from these dynasties and be stuck in a mire of bland and sub-par presenting.

Have seen her in real life a few times, she's pretty sexy. I doubt she can talk like her Dad tho, and hopefully her waist band doesn't expand like him.

Honostly think that the events of the past few months have very m,uch lessened the likely hood of anyone making it to the Holy Grail of RTE without reasonable talent.

One good thing about the recent economic crash is that the nod .wink and who you know culture has much lessened in importance

My bet is the even the stupid fookoos in RTE will be reluctant to take on another Ryan....could even work against her ...a bit of afters ....after GR was so bolshie about the pay cut.
