    Israelis
    Nigerians
    Aussies

    ...in that order.

Have travelled the world and that's my shortlist. I can deal with any other nation's people on earth, just not those 3.

    Kunts.

If you ever get stuck behind Israelis in an airport, you'll get it. I had the misfortune of being behind a couple of them at security, kicking up a massive fuss because they couldn't take on a massive container of some random liquid (milk or some sort of drink), insisting on seeing the supervisor and saying they'd never heard of such a ridiculous rule. Really irritating, spoiled whinebags who seem to think rules don't apply to them, that's my view on Israelis in airports.

They are aggressive in their tone.

But worse, they seem to genuinely think that they are superior to non-Jewish/non-Israeli people. Having met many backpacking, I have come to the stage now that I will give an Israeli a chance for 2 mins, and if I get a whiff that they are like the rest of them, I'll run.

They have pissed me off THAT many times. And obviously others too, as there are countless hostels in South America that have signs up saying "No Israelis Allowed".

I could give you examples of rudeness and aggression if you want. But it's late and I want to go to sleep soon.

The Dutch are so straightforward and direct that it seems rude.

In their defence, they assume that all people are straight thinking and assume that they are similar to them in their open minded ways.

Now this is going to sound a bit f++ked up, but one of the things that actually makes them a narrow minded nation, is that they can't understand as to why people don't think the same way as they do. It's weird, maybe I should not be posting while under the influence of Alcohol, but it's something I noticed. I've had several discussions with Several Dutch people on several subjects, and it was always a strange scenario.

They don't seem to understand as to why someone might have a different point of view.

I had a very specific argument with a crowd of them one evening in Holland, and had to defend a case of the Abortion boat (which happened to be Dutch) that parked itself off Dublin Bay being "Unacceptable" in Ireland.
They could not get the concept that at the time, there had been in very recent years a referendum on the subject of Abortion which had resulted in a vote against abortion. They only accepted my argument when I pointed this out them, and asked them what right they had to decide their opinion was the most correct and appropriate one, specifically after the country had just been asked their own.

Say what you will, but we have democracy for a reason - if the majority votes for something, then it does not become the right of others to decide whether theirs is a more appropriate opionion if they lose out.
Regardless of what I thought at the time on the subject of Abortion, it was something the Country had obviously opposed, and to this day, I get pissed off when people ridicule countries or Cultures for a difference of opinion.

It just struck me as being a bit of a Totalatarian Voltaire:
"I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it, as long as you agree with me." - if you like.

Just my Opinion - and I've been to the Netherlands more than once, and I'll go back there as many times as I can. I just thought it was an interesting observation at the time....

That's exactly it, IMO. And Canadians have a tendency to do that as well. I always thought it was funny. "We're really open minded and tolerant...but only to people who are exactly like us!"

It might sound like a naive claim to make but perhaps the mandatory service has radicalised them to a fair extent. I read a book a few years ago and that was mentioned as something which has had far reaching effects on israeli society. Growing up in an environment in which you are surrounded by enemies doesnt help much.

But im interested in that south american hostel issue, are there any articles on it? I'd like to read into it more.

I'll plump for Isreali's too. Any I've met just seem to have a huge huge chip on their shoulders. After that, not a nation.....New Yorkers.

My vote goes by far and away to the Hungarians, they are a rude nation of sheer depressives. I was in Budapest there last year and the people are rude and just down right depressed.

I have met my fair share of rude as f*ck Americans but the good ones more than make up for it. As for French people, some of them are knobheads but overall they are ok, I have a weirdly unusual habit of giving lifts to hitchikers alot of whom seem to be French, funny people. I had a funny incident where this French kept explaining how she wanted to get money from "her hole" which some muppet here had explained to her as "Hole in the wall" instead of ATM Machine!!

Have to agree but the other way around. Had the most arguments with New Yorkers - hotel staff / security guards, waiters, random people walking into me in the street etc absolutly HATED it there because of the people. I swear I'd need anger management if I stayed there any longer.

Second after that for me is Isreali's, MASSIVE chips on their shoulders.

Ah sure I'll do a third, again, not a country, but fecking people from Cork. I swear I've never met a Cork person who wasn't pretty rude.

Now I have never been to the country but without a doubt from the many people I have encountered from living and travelling abroad the Israelis take this easily.

Just last week one of them was shouting at me "I WILL **** YOU UP" in a club for having the audacity to ask him politely not to sit down in my girlfriends seat. This is a bloke who is on holiday in a foreign country where everyone is having great fun and smiling it just seems to be in their nature to be *****.I think the compulsory one year in the army has something to do with their attitudes whatever it is everyone that travels seems to share the opinion that they are just arseholes.

Can't believe South Africans haven't been mentioned yet. My God they are arrogant, onoxious, racist cants with a superiority complex second to none.

Honourable mentions would go to Israel, Pakistan, Nigeria and Russia

The French think, as already said, that we are English and then be bell-ends.
    Greeks, Spanish too.
    Pakistan, Nigeria is dire altogether.

Mrs. Carberry said it best when she exclaimed - "I don't care who he gets as long as I can have a go at the Greeks. They invented gayness."

All jokes aside - the Russians. Cold, angry people. I can see why xenophobia and totalitarianism thrives.

I am absolutely astounded that Italians have only been mentioned once in this thread. They are way way worse than the French with a lot more ball scratching. Without a doubht the second vainest people on he planet (Venuezalans being first). They would spend their last recs on grooming products and go hungry.

On the whole Israeli thing been there twice have to say that in their own country dead sound and laid back. When they travel abroad absolute c*nts, mainly to do with the fact that the vast majority of the Isreali's you meet on your travels are just after completing their mandatory military service (two years for the guys and 1 year for the guyettes) and their opinions of the world are pretty warped (as I could imagine mine would be if I had just spent two years sunning myself in the Golan heights!). They dislike Europeans as it is drilled into them in their military service that we are all secretly anti-semites (can't imagine this thread will help) and will end up boring the arse of you with extended rants comparing Le Monde to the National Socialist Daily. When I used to be travelling the minute I would hear that nasal hello I would just smile and about turn.

I've traveled a bit. If you really want to experience a country, its people and culture, stay away from the advertised tourist traps. When I have done this, I have found no "rudest nation."

When did everyone start traveling to Pakistan and Nigeria? You're not there on holiday are you? No wonder they're rude to you. They must be thinking what are these Euro tosspots doing in my country?!
